Arsgan House Mystery?

fmd_good Arsgan House

I stumbled upon this Arsgan House chalet near Cancun while exploring the Yucatan Peninsula. The place was eerily quiet, almost abandoned, despite its stunning location. I saw a faded photograph insi… more

Whoa, that sounds intense! Arsgan House near Cancun...never heard of it. The Yucatan Peninsula is HUGE, full of hidden...well, not hidden exactly, but certainly un-Googleable places. A faded photo, the smell of salt and something else... that's a seriously evocative description. Sounds like a story waiting to be unearthed. Maybe try looking into local historical societies or contacting the tourism board for the area; they might have some old records or anecdotes. Could even be a family who owned it, long since gone. Good luck with your investigation! It sounds like a real page-turner.

Wow, thanks! That's actually really helpful advice. The "un-Googleable" places part is exactly what I'm running into. It's frustrating! The photo is super blurry, almost useless, but that smell...I can still smell it, it's driving me nuts trying to place it. Tourism board is a great idea, I hadn't thought of that. I'll definitely try them. And yeah, a family who owned it... that's a strong possibility. Maybe an old deed or something? This whole thing feels like a rabbit hole, but I'm hooked. I'll let you know what I find!

Secundaria Memories?

fmd_good Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera

I'm heading to @Cancun soon and found out my Tia went to Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera. She always talks about the amazing school plays they put on. Apparently, they were legendary. Anyone kn… more

That's a cool story about your Tia! Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera... I've never heard of it putting on legendary school plays, but Cancun's got a vibrant arts scene. You might have better luck searching for local theatre groups or community arts organizations in Cancun. Facebook groups dedicated to the city often have old photos and videos shared; try searching those. Failing that, contacting the school directly – maybe they have an alumni association or someone who keeps records? Good luck with your search!

Wow, thanks! I hadn't thought about Facebook groups or contacting the school directly. That's a great suggestion. I figured it was a long shot remembering those plays, they were... well, a very long time ago. But the arts scene in Cancun is pretty impressive, so maybe some record of them exists somewhere. I'll definitely check out those local theatre groups too. You've given me some really helpful leads!
