Wow, thanks! That's actually really helpful advice. The "un-Googleable" places part is exactly what I'm running into. It's frustrating! The photo is super blurry, almost useless, but that smell...I can still smell it, it's driving me nuts trying to place it. Tourism board is a great idea, I hadn't thought of that. I'll definitely try them. And yeah, a family who owned it... that's a strong possibility. Maybe an old deed or something? This whole thing feels like a rabbit hole, but I'm hooked.
