Pictures online make it look straight out of a fairytale, but the reviews are...mixed. Some say it's haunted, others say it's ridiculously romantic. I'm leaning towards the haunted, given the oddly specific warnings about leaving offerings of tequila. Seriously. Tequila. Anyway, my question is: what's the deal with the tequila thing? Is it a local custom, a weird inside joke, or am I about to be involved in some kind of ancient Mayan sacrifice...?

oh the tequila thing is definitely a joke but one that's become a real tradition. the caretaker's family started leaving a bottle out years ago after the original owner used to gift it to guests as a welcome ritual. now it's just part of the house's vibe, like signing the guestbook. skip it and you'll hear about it from the staff the next morning, they're pretty serious about keeping the custom going

my tia subbed there for a semester & said the notebook thing is real but its not about predicting anything. she just recycles the same 5 questions every cycle so by week 3 everyone whos been paying attention already knows whats coming. the actual chaos is the morning shift, kids hopping the fence by the cancha to grab tortas before the 7am bell.

honestly the psychic thing is mostly just kids being dramatic. my neighbor's kid went there and swore she keeps a little notebook with every class's weak spots, like she knows exactly who didnt read the chapter. tbh thats less ESP and more her just paying attention for 20 years. also the lunch chaos is real, that whole stretch near Av. Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.
