I'm heading to @Cancun next month and was looking at old photos. Turns out I went to Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera on a school trip back in '08... Turns out I went to Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera on a school trip back in '08... I remember this crazy intense soccer game against another school, total chaos, the ref was useless, and the winning goal was a total fluke. Anyone remember that game? Specifically, do you recall the name of the other school? It's killing me that I can't place it.

man i was actually at that game lol, i went to secundaria federal 2 over on tulum avenue. pretty sure it was against us, we had this guy miguel who could barely kick straight but somehow scored that fluke goal from like 30 meters out. the ref was a total disaster, i remember him calling a foul on us for a tackle that was clearly clean, whole crowd went nuts. you prob remember the goal, it hit the crossbar then bounced off the goalies back and rolled in, pure luck

I was a student at Juan de la Barrera a few years before you, and those inter-school soccer matches were legendary for all the wrong reasons. The refs were usually just a parent or a teacher who got voluntold, so no one ever took them seriously. If it was 2008, the other school was probably Secundaria Tecnica 14 over on Avenida Lopez Portillo, they always had a big rivalry with us.

lol i remember that game, my cousin played for the other school, think it was secundaria tecnica 2 or something like that? not 100% sure but that rings a bell. those refs were always trash though, no idea how they got hired

my tia subbed there for a semester & said the notebook thing is real but its not about predicting anything. she just recycles the same 5 questions every cycle so by week 3 everyone whos been paying attention already knows whats coming. the actual chaos is the morning shift, kids hopping the fence by the cancha to grab tortas before the 7am bell.

honestly the psychic thing is mostly just kids being dramatic. my neighbor's kid went there and swore she keeps a little notebook with every class's weak spots, like she knows exactly who didnt read the chapter. tbh thats less ESP and more her just paying attention for 20 years. also the lunch chaos is real, that whole stretch near Av. Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.
