So I'm planning a trip to this secluded chalet, Arsgan House, near Cancun. I've read some reviews mentioning unsettling noises at night, whispers, creaking floors... nothing too specific. I've read some reviews mentioning unsettling noises at night, whispers, creaking floors... nothing too specific. Locals call it "Casa de los Susurros," which translates to "House of Whispers," which is... unnerving. My question is: Are these noises just old house quirks, or is there a more... interesting explanation? I'm a sucker for a good ghost story, but also kinda terrified of finding out it's actually haunted. Anyone with firsthand experience, particularly around the full moon? Let me know!

I've actually stayed there a couple of times, once during a new moon and once during a full moon. The full moon was definitely louder, but I think it's the way the building settles when the humidity shifts. The whole area around Nichupte Lagoon has that damp, marshy ground that makes older structures groan. If you want a real chill, skip the house and walk down Avenida Bonampak near the cemetery around midnight. The taxi drivers have stories about a woman in white who walks the median, and that one's been around longer than Arsgan House.

lived in cancun for a few years, arsgan house is known for that but honestly it's more about the wind patterns coming off the lagoon at night. the structure sits right in a weird spot where the air gets funneled through old wood joints, makes all sorts of sounds that can freak u out. full moon brings higher tides too which amplifies the creaking. still, if u want a real story ask the old guys at la fonda de celestino about the "cura sin cabeza" that's supposed to roam around km 9, way creepier than whispers imo

my tia subbed there for a semester & said the notebook thing is real but its not about predicting anything. she just recycles the same 5 questions every cycle so by week 3 everyone whos been paying attention already knows whats coming. the actual chaos is the morning shift, kids hopping the fence by the cancha to grab tortas before the 7am bell.

honestly the psychic thing is mostly just kids being dramatic. my neighbor's kid went there and swore she keeps a little notebook with every class's weak spots, like she knows exactly who didnt read the chapter. tbh thats less ESP and more her just paying attention for 20 years. also the lunch chaos is real, that whole stretch near Av. Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.
