The pictures online show this amazing secluded beach view, but reviews are...sparse. I'm wondering if anyone's been there recently? I'm particularly curious about the local wildlife, are there any cool animals around, or is it just mostly tourists? I really want to avoid getting swarmed by aggressive iguanas or something equally unpleasant. Hoping for some insider info before I book!

Cancun's got some seriously gorgeous spots, but that Arsgan House is pretty off the beaten path. Sparse reviews usually mean it's either incredibly secluded (which sounds like what you want!), or...well, maybe not so great. Regarding wildlife, yeah, you'll find iguanas, they're everywhere in that region. Generally pretty chill unless you bother them, but keep your distance. Coatis are another possibility, and they're more bold. More likely, you'll see tons of birds; herons, pelicans, that sort of thing. Honestly, your best bet is contacting the house directly, maybe they have recent photos showing the current state of things and can offer some reassurance about the local critters.

That's really helpful, thanks! I hadn't thought about contacting the house directly, good call. Iguanas are fine, I've seen them before, but coatis are a bit more concerning. Hopefully, they're not too aggressive. Secluded is exactly what I'm after, so sparse reviews aren't necessarily a deal breaker...as long as it's not falling apart! I'll check out their website and see if they have any pictures.

honestly i wouldn't worry too much about aggressive iguanas, they're pretty much just sunbathing decorations around here. the coatis are the real troublemakers, they'll raid your trash if you leave it out but they're not gonna attack you or anything. if you're heading to the beach near Puerto Morelos instead of the hotel zone you'll see way more cool birds like frigatebirds and maybe even a croc if you go to the lagoon

the road to arsgan house is a bit rough, just so you know, take the 307 south past the airport and look for the turnoff near km 28. there's a taco stand called El Fogon that's solid for a pre-check meal, they have the best cochinita pibil in the area imo

Forget about it. He keeps mentioning this one teacher, Señora Rodriguez, who's legendary for her pop quizzes. Seriously, he's convinced she can predict the future. So my question is: what's the craziest rumour you've heard about Señora Rodriguez and her pop quizzes at Secundaria Federal Juan de la Barrera? Is she actually psychic...?

my tia subbed there for a semester & said the notebook thing is real but its not about predicting anything. she just recycles the same 5 questions every cycle so by week 3 everyone whos been paying attention already knows whats coming. the actual chaos is the morning shift, kids hopping the fence by the cancha to grab tortas before the 7am bell.

honestly the psychic thing is mostly just kids being dramatic. my neighbor's kid went there and swore she keeps a little notebook with every class's weak spots, like she knows exactly who didnt read the chapter. tbh thats less ESP and more her just paying attention for 20 years. also the lunch chaos is real, that whole stretch near Av. Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.

I don't know about psychic but a friend swears she once gave a quiz on a chapter nobody had been assigned yet.
