So I'm heading to @Cancun next month and I'll finally get to see the Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo, which everyone calls "El Estadio." I've heard stories...whispers...about a supposed ghost tha… So I'm heading to @Cancun next month and I'll finally get to see the Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo, which everyone calls "El Estadio." I've heard stories...whispers...about a supposed ghost that haunts the upper deck. Apparently, a disgruntled former groundskeeper supposedly still wanders the stadium at night, muttering about unmowed grass. Is this just local legend, or is there any truth to these spooky tales? Seriously, anyone been there at night??

the ghost stories are mostly for tourists tbh, but there is some history there. the stadium was built on land that used to be part of an old henequen plantation, so there's always been weird vibes around that area. i've walked past it late at night after a tigres game and heard weird noises but it's probably just the metal settling or the security guards messing around. if you really want a spooky spot, check out the abandoned parque de las palapas nearby instead

oh man, i asked around about that once and my buddy who works concessions said the groundskeepers actually have a little shrine for the guy in the maintenance shed. they leave out a beer and a half-eaten torta on game days. no ghost sightings from him though, just a lot of stray cats that sneak in after hours.

Nah, it's all just fun spooky stories. Probably some bored teenagers trying to scare each other. I've been to El Estadio a few times, day and night, for soccer matches and concerts, never saw anything supernatural. Lots of echoes though, that place is HUGE. Maybe the "ghost" is just the wind whistling through the stands. Enjoy your trip!

my tia subbed there for a semester & said the notebook thing is real but its not about predicting anything. she just recycles the same 5 questions every cycle so by week 3 everyone whos been paying attention already knows whats coming. the actual chaos is the morning shift, kids hopping the fence by the cancha to grab tortas before the 7am bell.

honestly the psychic thing is mostly just kids being dramatic. my neighbor's kid went there and swore she keeps a little notebook with every class's weak spots, like she knows exactly who didnt read the chapter. tbh thats less ESP and more her just paying attention for 20 years. also the lunch chaos is real, that whole stretch near Av. Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.
