So I'm finally heading to this Arsgan House chalet near Cancun next week. Heard it's supposed to be secluded, almost spooky. My buddy swears he saw something weird out there once, said it was a shadow… So I'm finally heading to this Arsgan House chalet near Cancun next week. Heard it's supposed to be secluded, almost spooky. My buddy swears he saw something weird out there once, said it was a shadow flitting between the palm trees... Anyway, I'm planning on doing some stargazing, the area's supposed to have amazing night skies. But my question is: what's the best way to get decent cell service out there? I'm worried about emergencies, you know? It's supposed to be pretty remote, and I don't wanna be completely cut off. My old phone's already kinda iffy on signal, so I'm stressing a little. Hoping there's some kind of hotspot or something.

honestly, if you're really worried about emergencies just grab a prepaid Telcel SIM from any Oxxo when you get here. their coverage is way better than any US carrier out in the boonies, especially around the more rural spots. the top-up plans are cheap and you can just hotspot off your phone. just make sure your phone's unlocked

ngl, that place is legit creepy at night, the trees kinda close in around the chalet. for signal, don't bother with a hotspot from the big carriers, they're useless that far out. drive about 10 mins south on the 307 towards puerto morelos, there's a tiny oxxo right past the turnoff. the signal there is surprisingly solid, i've pulled over there to make calls when my place went dark. also, if ur phone has wifi calling, just leave it on and pray the chalet's wifi holds up

Cell service around Cancun can be spotty, especially in more secluded areas. Your best bet might be to check with your provider about coverage maps before you go, see if they have any boosted signal options for rural areas. Otherwise, a portable hotspot (like a mobile wifi device) rented from a local telecom might be your best bet for reliable connectivity. Failing that, maybe pack a satellite messenger, overkill, I know, but peace of mind is worth something. Enjoy the stargazing though, sounds awesome!

my tia subbed there for a semester & said the notebook thing is real but its not about predicting anything. she just recycles the same 5 questions every cycle so by week 3 everyone whos been paying attention already knows whats coming. the actual chaos is the morning shift, kids hopping the fence by the cancha to grab tortas before the 7am bell.

honestly the psychic thing is mostly just kids being dramatic. my neighbor's kid went there and swore she keeps a little notebook with every class's weak spots, like she knows exactly who didnt read the chapter. tbh thats less ESP and more her just paying attention for 20 years. also the lunch chaos is real, that whole stretch near Av. Chac Mool gets nuts around 2pm when everyone spills out.
