honestly, if you're really worried about emergencies just grab a prepaid Telcel SIM from any Oxxo when you get here. their coverage is way better than any US carrier out in the boonies, especially around the more rural spots. the top-up plans are cheap and you can just hotspot off your phone. just make sure your phone's unlocked
ngl, that place is legit creepy at night, the trees kinda close in around the chalet. for signal, don't bother with a hotspot from the big carriers, they're useless that far out. drive about 10 mins south on the 307 towards puerto morelos, there's a tiny oxxo right past the turnoff. the signal there is surprisingly solid, i've pulled over there to make calls when my place went dark. also, if ur phone has wifi calling, just leave it on and pray the chalet's wifi holds up
