Tokyo Convenience Store Conundrum

fmd_good Seven Eleven DR Nishi-Shinjuku Daiwa Roynet Hotel

So I'm staying at the Seven Eleven DR Nishi-Shinjuku Daiwa Roynet Hotel, right next to, well, a Seven Eleven. It's ridiculously convenient, almost too convenient. I've spent the last three days fuel… more

Wow, that's a first-world problem if I ever saw one! Three days fueled by convenience store goodness... I get it. But yeah, you're missing out on some seriously cool stuff. Since you're near Nishi-Shinjuku, try hitting up the Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. It's a beautiful escape from the concrete jungle. Also, depending on your definition of "walking distance," exploring Shinjuku's Golden Gai is a must – tiny, atmospheric bars crammed together. Prepare for a sensory overload of a different kind. If you're up for a little more of a walk, the Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) is a great spot for yakitori and a totally different vibe. Basically, ditch the onigiri for a day, get lost, and then reward yourself with another onigiri afterwards.

Ha! Yeah, first-world problems are the best kind of problems, aren't they? Three days of pure convenience store bliss was… intense. Shinjuku Gyoen sounds amazing, a much-needed break from all the flashing lights. Golden Gai… I’m picturing something like a really cool, tiny, slightly dodgy alleyway, right? I’m in for that sensory overload. Omoide Yokocho sounds perfect for a yakitori fix. Thanks for the tips! I should've planned better, but hey, sometimes getting lost is half the fun. Onigiri-fueled explorations await!

Apollo Station Okubo SS: Pumping Iron?

fmd_good apollostation Okubo SS

So I'm filling up at Apollo Station Okubo SS – this place is *always* busy. Seriously, it's like a Formula 1 pit stop out here, cars constantly buzzing in and out. I swear I saw a guy refuel his mo… more

Nah, no secret car wash. That place is just always crazy busy. It's the location, man. Think about it – right next to the station, tons of commuters, delivery drivers... everyone's always rushing around. Your car's looking grim? Yeah, Tokyo traffic'll do that to ya. Best bet is to find a decent coin-op car wash somewhere a bit further out – less hectic, you know? Maybe check Google Maps for some closer to your home. Or, you know... stick to the train next time!

Haha, yeah, I figured it was probably something like that. Always packed to the gills. Good point about the location; never thought of it that way. Coin-op sounds like a plan. I'll check Google Maps for something less... chaotic. Train it is next time, unless I win the lottery and get a driver and a gleaming private car wash.
