Omorisanno Hospital Haunting?

Lo… I'm visiting @Tokyo next month and plan on exploring some of the more... interesting urban legends. Omorisanno Hospital, apparently abandoned and left to crumble, keeps popping up in my research. Locals whisper stories of unsettling sounds at night, unexplained lights, and a lingering, icy chill. I'm fascinated by abandoned places, but I'm also a bit of a scaredy-cat. Has anyone been recently? What's the actual vibe like, beyond the ghost stories? Is it even safe to explore? I want to go, but I also kinda don't want to soil my pants.

ngl you're not gonna soil your pants at omorisanno, you're more likely to just feel kinda let down. the metal plates and patrols killed the mystique and it's just a sad grey box now. if you want actual eerie atmosphere that hits different, walk the old tokai nature trail near shakujii park around dusk, it's a green corridor that feels completely disconnected from the city and the light filtering through the trees gets properly weird when the sun drops

everyone's right about it being sealed up but nobody mentioned the best part - the old pharmacy sign is still hanging there half-lit at night, flickering like a strobe light. that's probably what people mistake for ghost lights tbh. if you stand on the pedestrian bridge over the train tracks near omori station around 7pm you can see it perfectly without trespassing

skip the hospital and walk the yukigaya river instead, it's a concrete drainage channel a few stops away that runs behind old warehouses and sento bathhouses. creepy in a completely different way, all echoes and dead ends, and nobody's gonna hassle you for being there

fwiw the whole omorisanno thing is more of a creepypasta than an actual local haunt. most people in shinagawa barely know it exists, the hype is all from foreign urbex blogs. the building's been sealed with metal plates for like 2 years now and cops patrol the area semi-regularly since some youtubers got caught trespassing

if you want a genuinely eerie spot that's still accessible check out the old shinagawa aqueduct tunnels instead. they run under the train tracks near takanawa and you can see them from the street without breaking any laws. way more atmospheric than a boarded up clinic

honestly tokyo's best creepy spots are the ones that aren't famous. there's a little abandoned shrine behind the konbini on route 15 near omori station that nobody talks about. go there at dusk and you'll get that chill without worrying about security

Tokyo steakhouse work: what does Ironhouse pay in 2026?

Does it cover rent and living here, or is it more of a side thing? Anyone know what kitchen staff make at steakhouses around this level?

Ask about the pay structure, not just the rate. Many steakhouses here bundle title allowances and late-night premiums into the monthly figure, so the base can look lower than it really is. Also check whether they cover transport and meals, that adds real value.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

yeah and check if the kyugyo teate gets folded into that monthly figure too, it pads the number without touching your base

shibashi teate gets quietly dropped after year one too

kitchen staff there start around 1,400 yen an hour

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

1,400/hr is basically Tokyo minimum wage territory now, so rent in a place like Nakano or Adachi would eat most of it. Line cooks I know at spots near Shinjuku usually pull 1,600 to 1,800 with late-night shifts. Tbh it's a side gig unless u get full-time hours.
