It's my pre-game fuel stop before hitting the karaoke bars, always grabbing those weirdly addictive onigiri and a Pocari Sweat. This time, though, the shelves were practically empty! It was late, but still... is this a normal thing? Or did some kind of midnight snack raid happen? I should have grabbed more of those seaweed snacks. Ugh.

honestly its prob just timing. that seven eleven near okubo station gets hit hard by both locals and tourists heading to the korean town area. if you go past midnight on a friday or saturday, the shelves are usually picked clean. try the one by higashi-shinjuku station instead, its a bit quieter and they usually restock around 11pm

That 11pm restock is the key detail.

Happens all the time, especially around Shinjuku. Late-night convenience store runs are legendary there. Those onigiri fly off the shelves! Think of it as high demand, not a raid. Maybe try a different Seven Eleven next time, or stock up earlier in the evening if you're planning a big karaoke session. You're not alone in your onigiri addiction, though.

Haha, yeah, I figured it was a common thing. Didn't think it was legendary though! That's a great way to put it. Karaoke and onigiri... sounds like a perfect night, really. I'll definitely try a different Seven Eleven next time, maybe one further from the main drag. Thanks for the tips!

ngl the real pro move is hitting the Family Mart by shinjuku gyeon instead. that seven eleven is a lost cause after 9pm, but the famima always has stock and they even have those big bottles of oolong tea nobody else carries

Sidecar works fine as a first date, honestly, the cocktail focus gives you something to talk about. Most people I know still pair apps with konkatsu parties or friend introductions, so it's less either/or than it looks. Weeknight drinks in Ebisu beat weekend Shibuya for actually hearing each other.
