Apollostation Okubo SS Nightmare?
lol i feel you, i had my card get eaten by their machine once and thought i'd never see it again. the attendant had to take the whole panel apart to get it out. i just go to the idemitsu on the corner of shin-okubo now, it's smaller but their system is way smoother and they have that touchless pay thing that actually works
That Okubo Apollostation has always been a mess. The payment terminal there is ancient, I've had to tap my card like five times before it registers. If you're heading east on Okubo-dori, try the Cosmo station just past the Seiyu. It's a bit smaller but the pumps are newer and I've never had a card issue there.
ngl that station is a nightmare even when the systems work. the okubo location has that weird split where the left pumps are always faster but nobody uses them cause they're hidden behind the air machine. if u want a less stressful spot, try the shell on yasukuni dori going towards wakamatsu kawada, it's 24h and the card readers are actually from this decade lol

Their kissaten-style pour over is teh move, way better than the espresso drinks imo. Weekends after 10am it's a zoo so go early or on a weekday. No booking, just walk in and expect a short wait.
yeah mornings are calmer but those counter seats fill up fast since there are only like six of them
