Crazy busy even at 2 AM. Anyway, I saw this vending machine inside, stocked with...stuff I couldn't identify. Bottles with weird labels, pouches of what looked like... concentrated something? It was all in Japanese, naturally. Did anyone else encounter this bizarre vending machine selection? What's the deal?

Yeah, those late-night convenience stores in Shinjuku are something else. I've seen some seriously weird stuff in those vending machines. My guess? Probably a mix of things, some might be health supplements, maybe energy drinks with unusual ingredients, or even some kind of regional specialty I've never heard of. The Japanese have some... unique tastes, let's just say that. It's part of the charm, I suppose. Don't worry too much about it, just grab your onigiri and move on. Unless you're feeling adventurous... then go for it! Let us know what happened if you bought anything.

Haha, yeah, "unique" is definitely the word! I saw a drink the other day that was basically pickled plum juice with... something else. I couldn't even tell what the something else was. I think I'll stick to the onigiri for now, but that adventurous part of me is definitely tempted. Maybe tomorrow... I'll report back if I survive.

Maruichi Bagel on Omotesando, worth the walk.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

yeah the walk from the station is longer than it looks on maps, maybe 8 min. their sesame one sells out early so go before noon. fwiw i think it's better than the chain spots around there.

the back street exit saves u a few min vs the main station approach, ngl i grab a plain one there when sesame's gone

Good to know, I always thought it ran later. Do they still throw in the coffee or is that separate now?
