Any restaurants that serve a good chocolate lava cake?

I know it's random but I have a special occasion coming up with my SO in Tokyo and this is her favorite dessert. I've heard rave reviews about the dessert scene in Tokyo so curious if this is a thing… I know it's random but I have a special occasion coming up with my SO in Tokyo and this is her favorite dessert. Any help is appreciated!

Bill's in Daikanyama does a solid molten chocolate cake that's actually more of a pudding-like lava cake. It's a chain originally from Australia but the one in Daikanyama has a nice relaxed vibe for a special night out. If you want something a bit more upscale, try the chocolate fondant at L'Osier in Ginza, though you'll need to book well ahead and it's pricey.

the hard rock cafe in shinjuku actually does a decent one if you want something casual and reliable lol. not fancy but consistent, and the portion is generous enough to share. if you're near shibuya, the chocolate lava cake at the bubby's in jinnan is pretty good too, comes with vanilla ice cream and they don't charge extra for it. both are under 1500 yen and you can just walk in without a reservation

honestly the chocolate fondant at deux in aoyama is my go-to for this. it's a tiny french place tucked away on a side street near kotto dori, super intimate with maybe 8 seats. the lava cake comes with this yuzu sorbet that cuts through the richness perfectly. around 2000 yen for the dessert alone but worth it for the atmosphere

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
