A good spot to watch the fireworks in Arakawa Sports Park (Saitama) that's accessible easily to go back to Sumida?

I want to watch the firework festival on Saturday but it seems like a hassle since it's far from where I am. Is there a clear spot to view the fireworks closer to me (Sumida)?

Thanks in advance!

The trains back from Saitama after fireworks are genuinely rough, especially if you're heading toward Sumida. You could try watching from the Sumida River terrace near the Kototoi Bridge area instead. It's about a 15-minute walk from the stations and gives you a solid view of the smaller local displays that happen along the river that weekend, plus you're already home in ten minutes.

honestly if u want to stay in sumida, just head to the riverside near sumida park or the azumabashi bridge area. arakawa sports park is cool but the trains back from saitama after fireworks are a nightmare, you'll be packed like sardines for over an hour. sumida river has its own smaller events around that time too, check the local ward site for details

If you really want to see the Arakawa Sports Park fireworks from Sumida, your best bet is to walk up to the riverside near the Horikiri Shibamata Bridge on the Sumida side. It's about a 20-minute walk from Horikiri-Shobuen Station on the Keisei line, and you'll get a clear view across the river without fighting the crowd leaving the park. The Keisei line runs direct to Oshiage or Aoto, so you can switch to the Toei Asakusa line and be back in Sumida in under 30 minutes.

if u have a costco membership the kirkland thick cut is the move, 4 packs of 500g for around 2500 yen and it crisps up proper in a cold pan. for smaller runs, precce in azabudai hills & the basement at isetan shinjuku both carry imported US & danish brands in the chilled case, just read the label for "thick cut" or "smoked" and not "loin". also worth knowing japanese bacon is often wet-cured so pat it dry before frying or it steams instead of crisping

kaldi coffee farm is hit or miss but their smoked bacon from denmark shows up pretty regular, the 200g pack runs about 600 yen. what actually works better for me is asking the butcher counter at peacock or life to slice the block bacon thick, like 5mm, they do it for free and it crisps way better than the pre-packed stuff. also fwiw cheap bacon crisps faster, the fatty supermarket kind at 300 yen a pack works fine if u cook it from cold in a dry pan and pour off the fat as it renders.

tbh the gyomu super store brand bacon is surprisingly decent for crisping up, its not thick cut but if you cook it low and slow it gets pretty crunchy. the key is the dry cure vs wet cure thing, wet cure steams. also check hanamasa if you have one nearby, they sell big packs of american style bacon thats actually smoked and firm.
