Samurai Restaurant Shinjuku tattoos?
you'll prob be fine with tattoos there, it's a totally different vibe from the robot place. the samurai restaurant is basically a big tourist trap but they're pretty chill about that stuff
if you're going for the show just know the food is an afterthought, like edible but nothing special. i'd grab a bowl of ramen at nagi in golden gai before or after instead of eating there
also the performers will try to pull you on stage for photos and stuff, way more interactive than the robot show ever was. bring a good phone camera cause the lighting is terrible for pics
tattoos are fine at samurai restaurant, theyre way more laid back than robot restaurant was. the robot place had that whole weird policy cause they were trying to court a more conservative crowd before they shut down
the real question is whether you actually want to go there though. the show is basically a loud samurai themed dinner theater, the actors are trying their best but its pretty cheesy. for the same money you could do a really nice yakiniku dinner at yakiniku jumbo in shinjuku sanchome, no show but the meat is incredible and zero tattoo issues
if you are set on the samurai thing, go for the later seating around 8pm, the crowd is more lively and the performers seem to feed off that energy. earlier shows can feel a bit dead

if you want a more authentic samurai vibe without the tourist markup, head to kagurazaka instead. there's a small theater there that does period plays with actual tea ceremony, way less crowded and the actors are legit. about a 15 min train from shinjuku
the show at samurai restaurant is fun for what it is, just temper expectations on the meal itself. the kagurazaka spot is cash only and you might need a japanese speaker to book but worth it if you can figure it out
