honestly this is a solid itinerary, you covered all the big spots. one thing i'd add is that the pempek at Pasar 16 Ilir is way better in the morning when its fresh, like before 10am. the vendors fry it right there and you can get a mix of lenjer and kapal selam for like IDR 20k total. also if you have time on day 3, skip the museum balaputra dewa and just walk around the lake at jakabaring around sunset, theres a food stall area that pops up with grilled fish and es campur, really chill vibe.
for the river boat ride, make sure you negotiate the price before boarding, some drivers try to charge tourists double. standard rate for a 30 min tour is about IDR 100k for the whole boat, not per person. and yeah cash is king everywhere, most warungs and street stalls wont take cards at all
ngl you nailed the itinerary but i think you missed one thing worth doing on day 1. right after crossing ampera bridge, walk south along Jl. Merdeka for about 5 minutes and you'll find the old colonial buildings near the Kuto Besak fort area. there's a small alley called Lorong Gedung where they sell kerupuk kemplang fresh from the frying vats, like IDR 15k for a big bag. way better than the packaged stuff at PTC
also for the pempek saga recommendation, fair warning that place gets packed around noon. i'd go at 11am or wait till 2pm, otherwise you're standing around for 20 minutes. their pempek lenjer is solid but the real sleeper there is the adaan, that fried ball thing, its lighter than the boiled ones
one more thing about the river boat, if you go around 5pm the light hits the stilt houses perfectly for photos. just bring cash for the boat guy cause they wont break a 100k note sometimes, keep small bills

the museum is solid but if ur into history, the sultan mahmud badaruddin ii museum right near benteng kuto besak is smaller and has way fewer people. i stumbled in there last year and the staff actually walked me around explaining things, felt more personal than the big museum. entry was like 3000 rupiah or something cheap
for pempek, candy is touristy now ngl. pempek saga has better cuko but if u want the real deal go to pempek raden at jalan demang lebar daun. its a tiny place, mostly locals, and they fry it fresh to order. the lenjer there is the best ive had in the city
also skip the river cruise from 16 ilir if u want the floating market vibe. go to the sungsang market on the outskirts, it starts at like 5am and the boats are more authentic. its a bit of a drive but worth it if ur here for more than a couple days
one thing the guide doesnt mention is the kuto besak fort area at night is great but if u go during the day its basically empty and u can actually walk along the old walls without the crowd. also theres a small food court right behind it called panganan khas that does a killer es kacang merah for like 8k, perfect after walking the bridge in the heat
agree with the museum tip, the sultan mahmud one is way more chill. also if you're into street food, try the tekwan from the stalls near 16 ilir around dusk, it's a fish soup with sago balls and it's super cheap, like 10k a bowl
