Best cocktails in Mumbai 2026: Sidecar worth it?

Been meaning to check out Sidecar in Lower Parel but the prices look steep even by Mumbai standards. Anyone know what a round for two actually runs there in 2026, and do they take cards or is it cash only? Also curious if they do happy hours on weekdays.

sidecar is card friendly, no cash hassle. a round of two classics runs around 3.5 to 4k now, so budget accordingly. they do weekday happy hours but only till 7, and it fills up fast after office crowd hits

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Agree, but the 7pm cutoff is strict.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

they card the tab per round too, annoying

The Aviation there, order that.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Weekend surcharge bumps it past that.

didnt know there was one tbh. got hit with it last sat and the bill jumped by like 600 odd. is it a flat thing or a percentage on the total?

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

yeah cards are fine but they add a service charge on top which stings. fwiw the bar bites are what make it worth it, the truffle fries are legit. just dont roll in after 8 expecting a seat without waiting.

truffle fries are good but the calamari is the real sleeper there. service charge stings less if u sit at the bar counter, they skip it sometimes. what time do u usually land to beat the queue

honestly those classic prices creep up every season, last i checked a negroni alone was pushing 900. if ur going with a big group just get the punch bowl, way better value per head. what night were u thinking

Happy hours skip Saturdays, and even on weekdays the office crowd starts queuing by 6:30.

Bharat on Lamington Road is a decent old-school bar, cheap drinks and no pretension, but it's a locals' peg-and-chakna spot rather than a night out.

Image nicole local ·

Fair warning: the kitchen shuts early, so treat it as a drinks stop before 10pm rather than dinner.

Tuesdays they shut by 9:30.

Yeah the peg-and-chakna read is spot on. Only thing I'd add is the AC section upstairs is where you actually want to sit in summer, ground floor gets muggy by 8. For a proper night out most folks I know walk over to the Grant Road side instead.
