Brass & Oak's decent but overpriced for what it is, and yes, service charge without asking is pretty standard across Mumbai bars now, so just check the bill.

Service charge is technically voluntary under CCPA rules, so you can ask them to waive it and most places at Lower Parel will quietly comply.

the 10 percent cap that came in last year

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

last i checked that cap applies per bill not per person so a big table can still get stung

Fair point on the pricing, though I'd argue the small plates hold up better than the mains. One thing worth knowing: GST on food and liquor gets calculated before any charge is added, so check that line too. Ask for the manager if the math looks off.

agreed, small plates carry the place. gst line is where most bills get creative

overpriced yes but the happy hours till 8 actually fix that

Happy hours do help, though the 8pm cutoff bites if you're coming straight from office in Prabhadevi. Go Tuesday to Thursday, weekends the bar fills up and you'll wait 20 minutes for a table even with the offer.

Only if you order the bar bites too, since the discount barely touches the Rs 700 cocktails.

yeah just ask them to take it off, staff usually don't bother arguing since it's optional

Best deli sandwiches near Sunny Deli in Mumbai 2026

fmd_goodSunny Deli · #mumbai #sandwiches #deli
I'm visiting Mumbai next month and staying close to Sunny Deli. Is it worth a stop for a quick lunch, and what should I order there in 2026? I'm visiting Mumbai next month and staying close to Sunny Deli. Is it worth a stop for a quick lunch, and what should I order there in 2026?

Go before 1pm, the 12:30 office rush clears out the good bread fast and the cold cuts sit warmer by 2.

Ask for the day-old focaccia, half price after 3

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Midweek is calmer than Saturday, when the queue snakes past the counter by noon.

Havent been to Sunny Deli itself but last trip i stayed near Bandra and honestly the deli sandwiches around there were fine, not mind blowing. If u go, get something with smoked chicken or a simple ham and cheese, the fancier ones get soggy. Prices were around 250 to 350 rupees. Quick lunch yes, dont plan a whole trip around it.

Image yasminmund local ·

yeah the smoked chicken one holds up better than the fancy stuff

arrow_drop_up 18 arrow_drop_down

True, though I'd say the plain cheese one actually travels better if you're carrying it any distance.
