Is Slice & Co a good first date spot in Mumbai 2026?

slice & co works but pick the bandra one over lower parel, way less echo when it's half empty

agreed on bandra, lower parel gets that mall crowd tho which some people like. bandra one u can actually hear each other talk. book ahead on weekends or u'll be waiting outside.

Image susannaber… local ·

bandra's tiny tho so book ahead or you're standing on linking road, lower parel at least has space to wait

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Image merlinde local ·

fair, but that echo depends on when u go. go before 8 and it's dead quiet, after that the crowd fills in and u get the noise anyway. so it's more about timing than which outlet

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Pizza's fine but honestly most first dates here happen at a coffee shop or a bar, not a sit down pizza place. Slice & Co works if you already know each other a bit. The bigger surprise for outsiders is how late things start, a 9pm dinner is normal and people don't blink at meeting at 10. Also expect the friend group to weigh in early, that part catches people off guard.

the friend group thing is real, they vet early

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Image catrin local ·

Yeah the 10pm thing is real, nobody shows before 8:30

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

Coffee shop works early on but the friend group vetting usually kicks in by date three, that's the part nobody warns you about.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Image janette local ·

true but nobody warns u about the friend group group chat screenshot thing, that's what actually got me

weekday evenings work better than weekends if u want to actually talk, friday sat the good spots are packed & loud by 8. also nobody splits the bill neatly here, one person just pays & u get the next one, so dont overthink the card dance. auto wala will refuse ur area after 11pm btw, book the return before u leave

best cheap eats near the daily plate in 2026?

fmd_goodThe Daily Plate · #breakfast #weekends #plates
anyone tried the daily plate lately? heard the breakfast plates are solid but idk if it's worth the wait on weekends. drop ur go to order if u been anyone tried the daily plate lately? heard the breakfast plates are solid but idk if it's worth the wait on weekends. drop ur go to order if u been

Weekend queue at Daily Plate moves quicker before 9, after that it snakes past the corner. If the wait gets long I just walk two minutes to the Irani cafe near the station for akuri on toast, cheaper and no line. Their keema pav is the better order anyway, breakfast plates are fine but the pav gets cold fast.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

yeah the pav cooling is real, i just ask for extra gravy on the side to keep it soft. tbh the akuri at that place beats most south bombay cafes and costs half. try the brun maska too if u go before 8

arrow_drop_up 13 arrow_drop_down
Image susan local ·

Extra gravy on the side is smart, though I'd skip the brun maska and get the mawa cake from the bakery two doors down instead.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

gravy on the side is the real trick, works every time

arrow_drop_up -1 arrow_drop_down

Image rohanj local ·

akuri holds up because they use fresh pav from the bakery next door, not the day old stuff most south bombay places pass off

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Ask for the bun maska with extra butter, it's the one thing worth beating the crowd for.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Image adelina local ·

the keema pav is the move but get there before 8:30, after that the gravy thickens up sitting in the tray. i usually grab a cutting chai next door while i wait. u ever tried their brun?

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Haven't tried their brun, is it softer than the regular pav or same crust?

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Image leniknecht local ·

honestly their brun is denser than regular pav so ask for it lightly toasted or it turns brick hard by 9

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Image merlinde local ·

That Irani spot also does a solid mutton kheema with extra pav for about 90 bucks if u get there before the trays run dry.
