sounds about right but loading guys at the hall also get baksheesh from traders on top of the 700
Fair rate for the area, though the fruit side near the vegetable gate tends to pay a bit more than the dry goods stalls. Most helpers I know also get a meal thrown in, which matters when rent alone eats half the pay.

tbh morning slot is way better, by noon the animals are flat out sleeping and the place gets baking hot. toy train was still parked last I checked in Jan, ask at teh counter though. take the Byculla East exit, way less hassle than the main gate
morning works but go right at opening, like 9, the big cats are up and moving before the crowd builds. the toy train queue is separate & shorter near the reptile house side.
The reptile house side queue is fine but the counter there only opens at 9.30, so grab tickets at the main window first.

Weekend queues at the ticket window are brutal, so book online and carry the printout; kids under three usually walk in free.
online booking only goes live a few days ahead so dont wait till friday night. also the printout queue is a separate window on the left, dont join the general line by mistake. under three free is right but they still scan something at the gate
book online yeah but the printout queue still crawls on saturdays, first sunday of teh month is free entry for kids so check the date. also carry cash for the coconut water guy outside, no upi there

Fair point, though the last entry is around 5.30 so you'll want to be in by 4.30 at the latest.
