How to get a PAN card in Mumbai 2026 as a foreigner

I'm stuck on the address proof part since I don't have an Indian residence yet, and my hotel booking at Sai Deep doesn't seem to count. Has anyone been through this as a newcomer?

hotel booking won't fly as address proof, but your employer's appointment letter plus a company address letter usually works for the UTIITSL centre at Lotus Court, Colaba. ask ur HR for the annexure format before u land, saves a second trip.

yeah that annexure tip is solid, though they've shifted a lot of it online now so check the current centre on the site before u go. carry photocopies of ur passport & visa too, they always want extra

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

carry the annexure in hard copy, they want a physical signature

Fees went up to 1070 for the company route, FYI.

Lotus Court has a decent photocopy guy downstairs, cheaper than the shops near Regal, get there before 10 or the queue eats your morning.

nsdl portal lets u apply online & pick ur nearest centre for biometrics after landing. for address just use ur company's Mumbai office address with the rent agreement or utility bill in the employer's name, they accept that for new joiners

the utility bill trick only works if it's recent, like within 2 months, so ask ur HR for a fresh one not an old copy

Best coffee near Common Grounds in Mumbai 2026?

Is the coffee there worth making a stop for, or should I be walking to somewhere nearby instead? Any idea what a flat white runs these days?

Common Grounds is fine for the vibe but I'd walk to Kala Ghoda instead, flat whites run around 280 to 320 now.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Kala Ghoda's a fair walk from there, so try the Irani cafe on the same lane first, chai's cheap but the filter coffee holds up.

their brun maska is the actual reason to go, coffee's secondary, & it's shut by like 6 so go morning

Yazdani, before 9, get the brun

Fair point on the price, though I'd cut through Horniman Circle rather than walk the long way round via DN Road, it's quicker and shaded. If you're already there, Kala Ghoda Cafe does a decent pour over for around 250.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Agree on the price, though that stretch of Fort has a couple of smaller roasters doing flat whites nearer 250 if you don't mind no seating.

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

280 to 320 tracks, though the tiny place off Rampart Row does a solid one nearer 220 if you don't need to sit

arrow_drop_up 13 arrow_drop_down

Bombay Coffee House, before 11. Cheaper and no crowd.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Sounds right, though they shut around 4 most days.

the flat white at subko is better tbh
