I pass Old Town Gardens most mornings around 6:30 and it's usually the quietest green patch in the area before the walkers and yoga groups take over. Entry is free and the gates open early, though the benches near the main path get claimed fast on weekends. Anyone know if the drinking water point has been fixed this year?

They've been running on and off since the landlord dispute, mostly weekend-only now. Call ahead before you trek down; the shutter down look is normal on weekdays. Ground floor is a co-working setup these days, shows moved upstairs.

yeah the weekend-only thing matches what i saw. one correction: ground floor is still free to walk into for the smaller photo stuff, only the main shows shifted up. kalaghoda lane gets dead on sundays so go sat evening

Saturday evenings do fill up fast, especially when there's a show opening. I'd say call Friday itself, because by Saturday afternoon they're often already fielding calls about the same slot.

The cramped feeling is mostly the low ceiling on the mezzanine, so stick to the ground floor photo wall if you're just browsing.
