Log a complaint on the BMC Pothole Fixit app or call 1916, and get your ward corporator involved, that actually moves things.

Image steffie local ·

The 1916 line is solid, but for construction noise specifically you want the ward building department, not the general helpline.

Agree, though getting the complaint number in writing from the ward office helps when you follow up, since verbal complaints tend to vanish.

Spot on about the paper trail. Ask for the complaint number on the receipt copy, and note the junior engineer's name at the ward office, since that's who actually inspects. Without those two, follow-ups just restart the whole thing.

Worth adding that the app's complaint window closes fast, so screenshot the timestamp before it disappears.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Corporator pressure matters more than the app for construction noise since builders respond to ward-level push, not tickets.

Pothole Fixit only covers roads, so for construction noise use the BMC 1916 line and ask for the ward's building and factories department instead.

Building and factories will only act if you cite the specific permit displayed at the site gate.

but for a spot noise complaint to actually get inspected you need to name the specific site & builder permit number in ur complaint

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Corporator's office needs the site permit number too, not just the ticket.

Best homestyle thali near The Indian Baithak in 2026?

Anyone been recently? I'm mainly after a solid homestyle thali rather than the fancy stuff, so curious if it's worth sitting down or better for takeaway.

try sai deep on the next gully for a proper ghar ka khana thali, unlimited chapati & the dal is thick not watery, go before 12.30 to skip the office rush

Gulshan's lunch thali, 1pm sharp

Thali finishes by 2.30 there, go earlier than 1.

1pm works only on weekdays, Sunday they run the thali till 2 and the queue snakes past the tailor shop.

The Baithak itself is fine for sitting down but their thali is more restaurant-style than ghar ka khana. For proper homestyle, walk five minutes to Anand Bhavan on the parallel lane, the Gujarati thali there is unlimited and they don't rush you. Around 8pm it's calmer than lunch. Takeaway from the Baithak works if you're eating within ten minutes, the rotis go stiff fast.
