Is Vintage Avenue in Mumbai worth visiting in 2026?

I'm visiting Mumbai in 2026 and Vintage Avenue keeps coming up for secondhand shopping. Is it worth the trip and what kind of stuff do they actually stock? It's a small shop tucked inside a lane near Tardeo, so factor in the traffic getting there. Stock turns over slowly, meaning a second visit a month later often shows the same racks. Worth a look only if you're already in the area for something else.

Cash only, and they shut by 8.

true about the slow turnover but the racks do rotate a bit around ganpati when regulars clear out stuff. if u do go, check the back shelf not just the front racks, that's where the mill surplus sits

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Honestly the stock's mostly 90s western wear and old Bandra labels, so go if you're after vintage denim nahi toh skip it.

yeah fair, but the sizing runs small so try before u buy. also cash only mostly, no upi last i went. go on a weekday else it gets packed

Image annerike local ·

Weekday mornings before 11, racks are still untouched then

the trial room is basically a curtain so wear something easy to change in, & bring small notes for change

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down
Image emily local ·

That curtain gap faces the main aisle so hold it shut yourself, and the mirror's cracked near the top.

agreed on the 90s western stuff, but the real pull is the old bombay mill surplus shirts at the back, those go for like 300 bucks. denim's picked over by resellers most weekends so dont expect much there

Mill surplus moves fast after month end.

Is 900 rupees normal for dinner in Mumbai 2026?

900 is high, thali places near stations run 250-400

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Depends on area, Dadar station side hits 450 now.

Image adelinefor… local ·

Matunga side sits closer to 500 with AC.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Image zayayilmaz local ·

Those 250-400 rates are for the roadside thali joints around Ghatkopar and Kurla, not a sit-down place like Milan Punjab.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Image madleine local ·

Only for standing counter thalis, seated places double that

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Image emily local ·

For 250-400 you're getting a limited veg thali at a veg place, a proper punjabi thaali with paneer and sweet runs 600+

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Image merlinde local ·

That range is for the basic veg thali at a no-frills place, whereas paneer and a sweet push it closer to 600 before tax.

Image irmelie local ·

900 sounds like the sit-down AC price honestly. Milan Punjab is a proper restaurant, not a street thali stall, so you're paying for the table and service too. Near the station you can def find decent thalis for 300-500 if you're ok with basic seating. If you want a nicer dinner out 900 isnt crazy for 2026.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Agree, plus 5% GST and service charge on top
