Naseem Pan Shop still worth it in 2026?

meetha pan is still solid but the gulkand ratio did shift slightly, less sweet now. i usually get the calcutta meetha with extra supari on the side, uncle charges 40 for it these days. go before 9pm, he shuts early on weekdays

Ask for the mix without extra chuna.

The supari on the side is smart, otherwise the sweet gets lost by the last bite.

Image susan local ·

True, once the chuna kicks in the sweetness fades fast. I keep the supari aside and chew it after, otherwise the last third is just betel leaf and spit. Uncle does a lighter chuna on request if you ask early.

yeah less sweet works better with the zarda base honestly, try the banarasi one next time if u want it milder

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

gulkand from the parel guy now, that's the shift

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down
Image susan local ·

That explains it, the mix tastes cleaner now, less of that heavy syrupy feel. He gets it fresh in small batches so some days it's milder than others.

didn't know that, thought it was 10

He also does a plain sada for 25 if you just want the leaf and chuna without the sweet.

Best steak in Mumbai: Ironhouse Steaks worth it in 2026?

fmd_goodIronhouse Steaks · #mumbai #steak #ribeye
Thinking of trying Ironhouse Steaks for the first time this weekend. Is the ribeye actually worth the price, or should I stick to the cheaper cuts? Thinking of trying Ironhouse Steaks for the first time this weekend. Is the ribeye actually worth the price, or should I stick to the cheaper cuts?
arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

ribeye is fine but honestly the flat iron at half the price eats better on most nights. tell them medium rare & not to drown it in that pepper sauce. book ahead on weekends, walk ins get stuck waiting past 9

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

fair point on the flat iron, but the pepper sauce is half the reason i go tbh. last time i asked for it on the side and they looked at me like i was crazy. still worth it tho

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down
Image yasminmund local ·

ha, they gave me the same look when i asked. trick is to order it on the side when u book, they note it down and nobody blinks at the table. sauce is heavy but i'd rather control how much goes on.

flat iron's also the one that sells out first, that's the tell

arrow_drop_up -1 arrow_drop_down

yep and book for like 7 not 8, the kitchen backs up once the late rush hits

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

medium rare is right but ask for it a notch under what u think, their grill runs hot & mine came closer to medium last time. also skip the weekend altogether if u can, tuesday night u get the same steak with actual breathing room

tenderloin at the bar, ask for the end cut

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

End cut's the move, but only if you get there before 8, they carve it off the roast early and it's gone by nine.

bar seats fill by 7:30 on Fridays

sure, but the real trick is going on a weekday, the weekday crowd's way chiller n u actually get a seat.
