honestly the animals are way more active before the heat kicks in, that's teh real reason to go early. got the penguin house and the tiger enclosure basically to myself around opening. 2 hrs is doable if u skip the gardens and just do the zoo loop.

yeah the loop is quick if you don't dawdle. one thing though, the tiger's usually flat out in cover till later, so don't bank on seeing it. mornings are more about the birds and the penguins waking up.

March is already getting sticky by 9am, so early morning genuinely matters here, not just for crowds but for animal activity. Gates at Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Udyan open around 9, and by 10 the school groups arrive in force. Two hours is tight if you want the zoo plus the botanical garden, budget three. Weekdays are noticeably calmer than weekends.

tbh the Byculla zoo ticket counter queue is the real bottleneck, so buy online the night before and you'll skip straight past it.

milan punjab is solid but the wait after 8pm is brutal so go by 7 or do a late 10.30 sit-down, & just walk from andheri station, it's barely 10 min
