Need to see a doctor for a persistent cough, any idea where to go and what a consultation usually costs? Also do clinics take international insurance or is cash the norm?

For a cough near Common Grounds, just walk into a GP at Bhatia Hospital on Tardeo Road, roughly 800 to 1200 rupees cash, and yes most clinics want cash upfront.

Cash thing is spot on, insurance rarely works.

Image genia local ·

some places do take card now, the bigger ones anyway

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Image christel local ·

yeah and even the ones that swipe cards want it upfront, then you chase reimbursement yourself later which is a headache

Ask the front desk for Dr. Merchant, chest specialist.

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

Image annemarie local ·

Dr. Merchant's OPD only runs mornings, before 11.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Right, and get there by 9 if you can because the queue builds fast after that. If you miss him, the general medicine OPD runs through the afternoon. Tuesdays are the quietest, I've noticed.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down
Image annemarie local ·

fair point on the queue, though tuesdays can flip if a senior consultant's OPD gets shifted, so call the landline before you head over

Worth calling ahead, he shifts to the evening list some weeks.

also carry ur passport copy, reception at the OPD counter wants ID before they let u up

Best dermatologist in Mumbai 2026?

anyone know a good dermatologist near Whitebox in Lower Parel? been putting off a skin thing for weeks and need to actually go. what does a consult usually cost and do they take insurance or is it all… anyone know a good dermatologist near Whitebox in Lower Parel? been putting off a skin thing for weeks and need to actually go. what does a consult usually cost and do they take insurance or is it all out of pocket

Skin & You clinic, Parel East, cash only.

Image zayayilmaz local ·

Their cash-only policy caught me out last time, so carry enough or hit the ATM on Dr Ambedkar Road first.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Image cindy local ·

They do UPI too, just ask at the counter.

Dr. Shweta, Kohinoor Road. Consults run 1200.

Seconding that recommendation, though be aware she books out about a week ahead so call now rather than walking in. On the money side, most derm clinics in Lower Parel are out of pocket and you claim it back from your insurer later, so ask for a proper bill with the diagnosis code.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down
Image susan local ·

Ask for the ICD code in writing, front desk won't volunteer it.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Image franka local ·

She's solid, but ask for the itemised bill at the desk itself since the insurance paperwork later is a headache.

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

Image adelina local ·

1200 sounds about right for her, maybe a bit more if there's a procedure. fwiw she's at the Sensitive Touch place opposite the Atria pharmacy, second floor, no lift so factor in the stairs. Cash or UPI at the desk, card machine is hit or miss.

arrow_drop_up 22 arrow_drop_down

card machine worked fine for me on a tuesday morning

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down
Image maxie local ·

probably a network thing tbh, their machine drops off when the wifi does so carry backup upi just in case
