Best coffee near Steam cafe in Mumbai 2026?

fmd_goodSteam · #coffee
I'm visiting Mumbai in March 2026 and Steam keeps coming up in cafe lists. What's good there, and is it the kind of place where you can sit with a laptop for an hour or two without feeling rushed? Steam at Kala Ghoda is fine for a laptop hour on weekday afternoons, but by 6pm the Colaba crowd makes it loud, so I'd go to Kala Ghoda Cafe instead.

yeah weekday afternoons are the move, weekends are a diff story entirely. honestly i'd just check google maps for hours before u trek out there.

Kala Ghoda Cafe's back room gets quiet after 3 but the wifi drops, so grab the corner table near the window.

Corner table's solid but the plug point there is dead, so carry a charged laptop or sit by the wall socket near the counter instead.

Second this, try the Bandra branch instead, way calmer.

The Colaba drift is real, but I'd say the bigger issue is that place gets echoey once it fills up. If you want quiet, try the small place off Rampart Row, the one with the blue door near the art gallery. Cheaper filter coffee too.

Try the lane behind Rhythm House, quieter tables there.

weekday mornings before 11 are even calmer

Fair call, though I'd grab a cold brew at that Churchgate place instead since the seating stays empty till noon.

I want to sell my old clothes

arrow_drop_up 123 arrow_drop_down

have u tried the chor bazaar route? not for selling to shops but the friday morning flea guys near mumbadevi, some of them buy vintage/retro pieces outright and pay better than the bale walas if ur stuff has any character. got 800 for a bunch of old levi's and band tees there. thing is u gotta go early like 6am and know how to hold ur ground, they smell desperation instantly

one thing nobody mentioned, watch out for the weight vs piece thing. kabadiwalas and bale buyers pay by kilo so heavy stuff like denim and woolens actually earn more than fancy light stuff. i cleared a whole bag of old jeans to a guy in Malad for way better than what my branded shirts fetched. also wash everything before u show it, sounds obvious but dusty clothes get lowballed on sight.

honestly the timing matters more than the platform. end of month is when people get salary and actually buy, so list ur stuff around the 1st or 2nd. also post pics in natural light near a window, not on ur bed with flash, makes a huge difference on OLX and insta thrift pages. i've flipped a lot of my old stuff this way and the same kurta that got ignored at 300 sold for 500 when i relisted it properly.
