The CSMVS modern wing is worth it but check hours first, and the local to Churchgate drops you right there so skip the cab.

Weekend queues at Kala Ghoda are brutal though, go before 10:30 or you'll shuffle through the galleries.

yeah second that, just keep in mind they close on some public holidays which catches people out. if you're going sat, the walk from the station is barely 10 mins so cab's a waste honestly.

Honestly the modern wing's upper floor is where the good stuff sits, so budget an hour minimum there or u'll rush it.

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Agreed, that top floor alone justifies the entry fee.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

True, and the miniatures room tucked at the back of that floor is easy to miss if you're moving fast. I'd do the far end first then work back toward the stairs. Also the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya ticket covers both wings, so keep the stub.

gateway of india side exit puts u closer than the main churchgate entrance, saves the loop around

that side gate spits u onto the arcade near the Jahangir art gallery so u skip the ticket queue too

Weekday mornings beat sat by a mile

CSMVS is a good pick but check hours online before u go, sometimes they shut early for events. also the local gets packed after 6 so plan around that

I want to sell my old clothes

arrow_drop_up 123 arrow_drop_down

have u tried the chor bazaar route? not for selling to shops but the friday morning flea guys near mumbadevi, some of them buy vintage/retro pieces outright and pay better than the bale walas if ur stuff has any character. got 800 for a bunch of old levi's and band tees there. thing is u gotta go early like 6am and know how to hold ur ground, they smell desperation instantly

one thing nobody mentioned, watch out for the weight vs piece thing. kabadiwalas and bale buyers pay by kilo so heavy stuff like denim and woolens actually earn more than fancy light stuff. i cleared a whole bag of old jeans to a guy in Malad for way better than what my branded shirts fetched. also wash everything before u show it, sounds obvious but dusty clothes get lowballed on sight.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

honestly the timing matters more than the platform. end of month is when people get salary and actually buy, so list ur stuff around the 1st or 2nd. also post pics in natural light near a window, not on ur bed with flash, makes a huge difference on OLX and insta thrift pages. i've flipped a lot of my old stuff this way and the same kurta that got ignored at 300 sold for 500 when i relisted it properly.
