Sidecar bar prices in Mumbai 2026: is this normal?

950 before tax lands near 1,120 with GST and service, so budget for that. I'd rather do two drinks there and walk to The Bombay Canteen or Bastian nearby than run a full tab at those rates.

Sidecar's always been that end of the market, not new.

yeah it opened at that price point & never dropped. what changed is kamala mills itself, aer/boiler etc pulled the whole compound up so 950 feels less insane now than it wouldve in 2019

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

true, they came out of the gate at 900ish back when lower parel had nothing else. what's shifted is the tax & service stacking, so the menu number is the same but the bill stings more now

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Service charge is the sneaky bit, 10 percent on top.

The compounding is the killer, GST on the service charge too, so your 950 quietly becomes 1,150ish before you've even tipped.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

fair, but the 2016 menu was closer to 650 and it still felt like a splurge then. what's changed is the crowd, kamala mills on a saturday is all office folks & hotel guests now so they price for it

Office crowd's only half of it, the hotel guests are the ones who don't blink at a 1,200 rupee bill.

Aer's the one that set the ceiling

Four Seasons had to price it that way to justify the sea view, and everyone in Lower Parel has been chasing that ceiling since.

I want to sell my old clothes

arrow_drop_up 120 arrow_drop_down

have u tried the chor bazaar route? not for selling to shops but the friday morning flea guys near mumbadevi, some of them buy vintage/retro pieces outright and pay better than the bale walas if ur stuff has any character. got 800 for a bunch of old levi's and band tees there. thing is u gotta go early like 6am and know how to hold ur ground, they smell desperation instantly

one thing nobody mentioned, watch out for the weight vs piece thing. kabadiwalas and bale buyers pay by kilo so heavy stuff like denim and woolens actually earn more than fancy light stuff. i cleared a whole bag of old jeans to a guy in Malad for way better than what my branded shirts fetched. also wash everything before u show it, sounds obvious but dusty clothes get lowballed on sight.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

honestly the timing matters more than the platform. end of month is when people get salary and actually buy, so list ur stuff around the 1st or 2nd. also post pics in natural light near a window, not on ur bed with flash, makes a huge difference on OLX and insta thrift pages. i've flipped a lot of my old stuff this way and the same kurta that got ignored at 300 sold for 500 when i relisted it properly.
