How reliable is the wifi in bars around there, and do people actually bring laptops to work or is that frowned upon? Also curious whether most remote workers keep India hours or shift to overlap with Europe or the US.

the whole stretch near bharat is more of a drinking spot than a work one tbh. if u actually want to sit for hours try the colaba or lower parel cafe-bars, theyre used to it & have proper plug points. most folks i know keep ist & just do early calls with europe

fair point on lower parel, but colaba's a trek if you're staying north. try the cafes off Linking Road instead, plug points are decent and nobody blinks at a laptop till lunch. for US overlap most people i know just do a late night block instead of shifting hours.

Powai works too, quieter and fewer stares.

Colaba Social, 11am, plug points by the wall booth.

lower parel cafe-bars empty out by 5 so u get the good tables, just dont expect a plug point after the office crowd lands

Mostly IST with a late block for Europe, agreed.

khar and santacruz side has a few irani cafes doing this quietly, cheaper chai and no one cares if u camp till 3. wifi is weak tho so hotspot. early europe calls beat late nights imo

Bharat's wifi is patchy at best, so tether off your phone; laptop-in-bar is tolerated but stick to daytime, and most of us just work India hours.

yeah the daytime thing matters, after like 6pm the regulars start giving you looks, and tbh the wifi at most Bandra bars is fine for Slack but not for calls.

I want to sell my old clothes

arrow_drop_up 110 arrow_drop_down

have u tried the chor bazaar route? not for selling to shops but the friday morning flea guys near mumbadevi, some of them buy vintage/retro pieces outright and pay better than the bale walas if ur stuff has any character. got 800 for a bunch of old levi's and band tees there. thing is u gotta go early like 6am and know how to hold ur ground, they smell desperation instantly

one thing nobody mentioned, watch out for the weight vs piece thing. kabadiwalas and bale buyers pay by kilo so heavy stuff like denim and woolens actually earn more than fancy light stuff. i cleared a whole bag of old jeans to a guy in Malad for way better than what my branded shirts fetched. also wash everything before u show it, sounds obvious but dusty clothes get lowballed on sight.

honestly the timing matters more than the platform. end of month is when people get salary and actually buy, so list ur stuff around the 1st or 2nd. also post pics in natural light near a window, not on ur bed with flash, makes a huge difference on OLX and insta thrift pages. i've flipped a lot of my old stuff this way and the same kurta that got ignored at 300 sold for 500 when i relisted it properly.
