Also, does anyone know if they add a service charge on top, and whether UPI works there for splitting the bill?

amex works there, used it last month at the fort one. service charge is usually 10 percent on the bill, sometimes waived if u ask nicely & paying by card. upi is fine for splitting, they'll bring a qr to the table. book the corner table near the window if u can, quieter

The 10 percent service charge is standard across Fort restaurants now, though I've found The Cellar drops it without much pushback if you're a regular.

window table is worth it but ask for the one facing the lane, not the wall side. splitting via upi works better if one person pays & the rest transfer, the qr thing gets messy with more than 3 people

Fair point on the UPI mess, one person paying and the rest transferring on GPay is way smoother than passing a QR around.

Good shout on the lane side, that wall-facing one catches all the kitchen noise, and settling via GPay beats fighting over a QR.

Splitting via one payer makes sense, though I'd use PhonePe over GPay since it settles instantly to the payer's account. Ask for the lane-facing table on the upper level, the ground floor one gets the door draft every time it opens.

yeah the lane side gets loud later tho

true that, qr gets messy with a big group. just get the server to split the bill evenly on their system instead, way less drama

card surcharge is extra on top of the 10 percent though

dbs card gets declined there sometimes, visa only

I want to sell my old clothes

arrow_drop_up 43 arrow_drop_down

have u tried the chor bazaar route? not for selling to shops but the friday morning flea guys near mumbadevi, some of them buy vintage/retro pieces outright and pay better than the bale walas if ur stuff has any character. got 800 for a bunch of old levi's and band tees there. thing is u gotta go early like 6am and know how to hold ur ground, they smell desperation instantly

one thing nobody mentioned, watch out for the weight vs piece thing. kabadiwalas and bale buyers pay by kilo so heavy stuff like denim and woolens actually earn more than fancy light stuff. i cleared a whole bag of old jeans to a guy in Malad for way better than what my branded shirts fetched. also wash everything before u show it, sounds obvious but dusty clothes get lowballed on sight.

honestly the timing matters more than the platform. end of month is when people get salary and actually buy, so list ur stuff around the 1st or 2nd. also post pics in natural light near a window, not on ur bed with flash, makes a huge difference on OLX and insta thrift pages. i've flipped a lot of my old stuff this way and the same kurta that got ignored at 300 sold for 500 when i relisted it properly.
