the Bandra counter still keeps first flush behind the glass, ask at the till cuz they don't always shelve it. prices have gone up tho, think 450 to 600 for 100g depending on the estate. try the Puttabong if its in stock.

Ask for the Castleton, usually cheaper and just as good.

Second this, though the Makaibari's worth the extra

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Goomtee's the one sitting next to it, similar price

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Rungmook's the one beside it, 520 for 100g last week

castleton's decent but i find it goes flat after the second steep, so i only buy it small. the muscatel ones from the counter near Kala Ghoda hold up better if ur doing multiple cups. what estate did u last get there

Cheers to that, Arya's the estate to grab.

That glass case also hides the Okayti, which sits closer to 560 now and rarely gets mentioned.

yeah the till trick is real, they keep the good stuff back. fwiw the 2026 first flush is landing later this month so the current stock is prob last seasons, check the date on the pack before u buy

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Checking the pack date is smart since Margarets Hope from the older lot tastes noticeably flatter.

I want to sell my old clothes

arrow_drop_up 41 arrow_drop_down

have u tried the chor bazaar route? not for selling to shops but the friday morning flea guys near mumbadevi, some of them buy vintage/retro pieces outright and pay better than the bale walas if ur stuff has any character. got 800 for a bunch of old levi's and band tees there. thing is u gotta go early like 6am and know how to hold ur ground, they smell desperation instantly

one thing nobody mentioned, watch out for the weight vs piece thing. kabadiwalas and bale buyers pay by kilo so heavy stuff like denim and woolens actually earn more than fancy light stuff. i cleared a whole bag of old jeans to a guy in Malad for way better than what my branded shirts fetched. also wash everything before u show it, sounds obvious but dusty clothes get lowballed on sight.

honestly the timing matters more than the platform. end of month is when people get salary and actually buy, so list ur stuff around the 1st or 2nd. also post pics in natural light near a window, not on ur bed with flash, makes a huge difference on OLX and insta thrift pages. i've flipped a lot of my old stuff this way and the same kurta that got ignored at 300 sold for 500 when i relisted it properly.
