Sion East Mysteries

He lives near the Sion Hospital, and keeps mentioning this crazy street food scene hidden away in the smaller lanes. He talks about these tiny stalls, practically bursting with flavour, tucked away behind the main roads... stuff you'd never find on Zomato. The thing is, he's notoriously vague with directions. My question is: How on earth do you find these legendary Sion East street food spots without getting hopelessly lost? I'm picturing myself wandering around for hours, only to find vada pav stands that look exactly the same. Help!

sion east is genuinely confusing cos the good stuff is off the numbered lanes behind sion hospital, not on the main road. start near the sion circle end and walk into the lanes past the station side, look for stalls with a queue of locals at like 7pm, that's usually the tell. the khau galli near sion hospital gate 2 does solid pav bhaji & misal, and there's a guy doing frankie rolls near the trombay road junction that your cousin probably means. honestly just follow the office crowd around 6:30, they know where the cheap good stuff is

The numbered lanes off the station road are where it clicks. Come out of Sion station on the east side, cross to Road No. 24, and the stalls start appearing around the third or fourth turning, mostly between 6 and 10 at night. Ask for the "khau galli" and any shopkeeper will point you, no need for pins.

One thing nobody mentions: Thursday and Sunday are the best nights because the office crowd thins out but the stall regulars still show, so you get the food without the crush. Weekday lunch is a different scene entirely, mostly idli and poha carts near the hospital gate. Different crowd, different food.

If your cousin's directions fail, the fallback is to walk Trombay Road towards Chunabhatti and turn into the first lane past the bus depot. There's a cluster there that runs late. Cash helps but most now take UPI, so don't stress about it.

Your cousin's vagueness is actually the norm there. The trick is timing over mapping. Most of those stalls behind the hospital only fire up after 6 and pack up by 10, so if you go mid afternoon you'll see empty carts and assume you're lost. Go hungry around 7, walk the lane that runs parallel to the hospital compound wall, and let your nose do the work. Also, cash only, most of them don't bother with UPI.

I want to sell my old clothes

arrow_drop_up 1250 arrow_drop_down

have u tried the chor bazaar route? not for selling to shops but the friday morning flea guys near mumbadevi, some of them buy vintage/retro pieces outright and pay better than the bale walas if ur stuff has any character. got 800 for a bunch of old levi's and band tees there. thing is u gotta go early like 6am and know how to hold ur ground, they smell desperation instantly

one thing nobody mentioned, watch out for the weight vs piece thing. kabadiwalas and bale buyers pay by kilo so heavy stuff like denim and woolens actually earn more than fancy light stuff. i cleared a whole bag of old jeans to a guy in Malad for way better than what my branded shirts fetched. also wash everything before u show it, sounds obvious but dusty clothes get lowballed on sight.

honestly the timing matters more than the platform. end of month is when people get salary and actually buy, so list ur stuff around the 1st or 2nd. also post pics in natural light near a window, not on ur bed with flash, makes a huge difference on OLX and insta thrift pages. i've flipped a lot of my old stuff this way and the same kurta that got ignored at 300 sold for 500 when i relisted it properly.
