Locals call it "the whispering path," apparently. Anyone been there? Any advice on how to find it, or what I might see besides creepy crawlies...?

oh yeah i know exactly what you're talking about. it's not really a secret path, more like this narrow lane behind the old dharamshala on station road. if you're coming out of sion station east, take the left past the paan shops and walk till you see a faded blue board for "shree laxmi narayan dharamshala." the lane is right next to it, barely wide enough for two people. the banyan tree is massive, covers the whole entrance, and the temple is just a small hanuman shrine tucked into the wall. honestly it's more atmospheric than creepy, especially in the late afternoon when the light filters through the leaves. just watch your step, the ground is uneven and there's usually some broken glass around.

yeah so the whispering path thing is real but it's not some hidden secret, it's literally just a cut-through locals use to avoid the station crowd. if you're coming from the sion circle side, walk past the mcDonald's and take the first left after the domino's, the lane opens up behind the old municipal school. the banyan there is ancient, like probably pre-1960s, and the shrine is a small ganesh idol under the roots, not a full temple. the 'whispering' part comes from the wind whistling through the roots, not ghosts or anything. go around 5pm when school lets out and you'll see kids running through it, it's not creepy at all. just don't go after dark, the street dogs there get territorial and the lighting is terrible.

Nah, I've never heard of a "whispering path" in Sion East, near the station. Sounds like a local legend, maybe spun up by some bored college kids. The area around Sion station is pretty densely packed, you'd think something like that would be more, well, known. But hey, exploring is half the fun. If you stumble on it, take pictures! I'm genuinely curious now. Maybe it's just a really overgrown alleyway. Good luck with your quest! Let us know if you find anything interesting... besides spiders. Lots and lots of spiders.

I want to sell my old clothes

ngl the easiest way is to just hand them over to a scrapwala near your building, they'll sort through and take what they want, rest goes to recycling. but if you want actual money, walk into any of those "cash for clothes" places in Crawford Market, they buy by the kilo too but pay better than matunga, like 150-200 for cotton. just don't bring anything with stains or tears, they'll reject it outright and you'll waste your time hauling it there

fwiw you could also try the Instagram thrift stores that are based out of mumbai, like "bombay thrift store" or "mumbai thrift club". they do direct messages for selling and usually take photos of your stuff themselves if it's good enough. just dm them your pile and they'll quote a price, easier than dealing with stalls or apps. also, if you have any branded stuff, try the "luxury thrift" pages instead, they pay way better for zara or h&m than the general ones

The St. Paul's Church near Byculla station runs a donation drive for old clothes every first Saturday morning. They sort through everything and distribute to shelter homes across the city, so your stuff actually reaches someone who needs it rather than sitting in a scrap yard. Just drop off before 11am or the volunteers pack up for the day.
