πŸ› Iconic Street Food
Start your culinary journey at Mohammed Ali Road in Bhendi Bazaar, where the legendary Noor Mohammadi Hotel serves a fiery keema pav (β‚Ή120) and succulent seekh kebabs. For the city's best vada pav, head to Anand Stall in Vile Parle (West) near the station; a single vada pav costs just β‚Ή15. Don't miss the pav bhaji at Sardar Refreshments in Tardeo, a buttery, spicy staple that draws crowds nightly.

🍽️ Fine Dining Gems
For an upscale experience, book a table at Wasabi by Morimoto in the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Colaba, where a tasting menu starts at β‚Ή5,000 per person. The Bombay Canteen in Lower Parel (Unit 1, Kamala Mills) offers modern Indian small plates like gunpowder squid, with mains averaging β‚Ή800. At Masque in Mahalaxmi (2nd Floor, Laxmi Woolen Mills), the 10-course tasting menu (β‚Ή4,500) showcases seasonal Indian ingredients.

πŸ₯Ÿ Regional Indian Specialties
Sample coastal Konkani cuisine at Gajalee in Vile Parle (East), where the crab masala (β‚Ή650) and bombil fry are legendary. For authentic South Indian fare, visit Cafe Madras in Matunga (Bhandarkar Road), open 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, serving crispy dosas (β‚Ή80) and filter coffee (β‚Ή30). Head to Khyber in Fort for robust North Indian dishes like dal makhani (β‚Ή450) and butter chicken (β‚Ή550).

🍜 Global Flavors
Indulge in wood-fired pizzas at The Table in Colaba (Kalapesi Trust Building), where a margherita costs β‚Ή650 and the truffle mushroom pizza is β‚Ή850. For Japanese ramen, visit Yatai in Bandra (Hill Road), with bowls starting at β‚Ή550. At Pa Pa Ya in Lower Parel (High Street Phoenix), the sushi platter (β‚Ή1,200) and dim sum (β‚Ή500) offer a contemporary Asian experience.

🍩 Sweet Treats
Satisfy your sweet tooth with the iconic kulfi at K Rustom's in Marine Lines, where a single stick costs β‚Ή40 and flavors include malai and mango. For traditional Indian sweets, visit Chitale Bandhu in Dadar (East), famous for its bakarwadi (β‚Ή200 per kg) and peda. Theobroma in Colaba (Cusrow Baug) serves a rich chocolate overload cake slice for β‚Ή250.

πŸŒƒ Late-Night Eats
After midnight, head to Bademiya in Colaba (Tulloch Road) for succulent seekh rolls (β‚Ή150) and chicken tikka (β‚Ή200), open until 3:00 AM. For a classic bun maska and chai, visit Kyani & Co. in Marine Lines (Jer Mahal Estate), a 100-year-old Irani cafe open until 1:00 AM. At Jai Hind Lunch Home in Fort, the fish thali (β‚Ή350) is served until 2:00 AM.

πŸš‡ Navigating Food Trails
Use the Mumbai Metro Line 1 to reach Versova for beachside stalls like Fatima's vada pav. Local trains are efficient: take the Western Line to Grant Road for Mohammed Ali Road, or the Central Line to Dadar for Chitale Bandhu. Rickshaws and Uber are affordable for short hops; a 5 km ride costs around β‚Ή100.

nice writeup, captures most of the essentials. one thing i'd throw in for the sweet section is the malai sandwich at k rustom's, it's not on the menu but they'll make it if you ask. it's basically two kulfi sticks between a soft bun, costs like β‚Ή50 and is perfect for marine lines humidity

also for fine dining, you skipped over the tasting menu at indie by sid in colaba. it's β‚Ή3,800 for 8 courses and does things like raw jackfruit biryani that tastes nothing like jackfruit but in a good way. way less touristy than wasabi and the wine pairings are actually reasonable at β‚Ή1,500 extra

the local train advice is solid but just a heads up, western line churchgate station has a dedicated ladies' compartment platform now on the far end. saves you the mad rush if you're going that way from colaba area

lovely list, especially the bademiya nod for late night. one deep cut i'd add is the bun maska at koolar & co in matunga, it's a tiny irani spot younger than kyani but their maska is thicker and the chai comes in those old steel tumblers. costs about β‚Ή30 for a bun and chai combo, open till midnight

for the regional section, you should check out konkan cafe in fort near the army navy building. their sol kadhi is the best palate cleanser in the city, β‚Ή50 a glass, and the fish curry rice thali at β‚Ή300 beats gajalee on a weekday afternoon because it's less crowded and the pomfret is always fresh

also if you're doing the mohammed ali road trail during ramzan, the haleem at noor mohammadi is only available then and it's way better than their keema pav. thick slow-cooked wheat and meat porridge, β‚Ή150 a bowl, they serve it with fried onions and lemon

solid list, glad you included cafe madras and sardar refreshments. one thing i'd add is the missal pav at aaswad in dadar, it's a spicy, tangy maharashtrian staple that's around β‚Ή100 and hits different after a long day. also, for a quick bite near mohammed ali road, try the chicken shami kebab rolls at bade miyan's original stall, they're juicier than the seekh ones imo. the local train tip is spot on but just a heads up, avoid peak hours (8-10am and 6-8pm) unless you want to be packed like a sardine

I want to sell my old clothes

ngl the easiest way is to just hand them over to a scrapwala near your building, they'll sort through and take what they want, rest goes to recycling. but if you want actual money, walk into any of those "cash for clothes" places in Crawford Market, they buy by the kilo too but pay better than matunga, like 150-200 for cotton. just don't bring anything with stains or tears, they'll reject it outright and you'll waste your time hauling it there

fwiw you could also try the Instagram thrift stores that are based out of mumbai, like "bombay thrift store" or "mumbai thrift club". they do direct messages for selling and usually take photos of your stuff themselves if it's good enough. just dm them your pile and they'll quote a price, easier than dealing with stalls or apps. also, if you have any branded stuff, try the "luxury thrift" pages instead, they pay way better for zara or h&m than the general ones

The St. Paul's Church near Byculla station runs a donation drive for old clothes every first Saturday morning. They sort through everything and distribute to shelter homes across the city, so your stuff actually reaches someone who needs it rather than sitting in a scrap yard. Just drop off before 11am or the volunteers pack up for the day.
