Heard tales of amazing street food tucked away in the smaller lanes, the kind tourists never find. Anyone know of any particularly good, secret spots? I'm talking hole-in-the-wall places with the best Bombay vada pav or something equally delicious and authentic. I'm prepared for a chaotic adventure, but good food makes any adventure worthwhile... right?

the station side gets all the attention but walk east past the market into the smaller lanes behind sion hospital & you'll find the real stuff. there's a tiny frankie cart near the ambe mata road junction that does a mean schezwan roll for like 40 bucks, no name just a guy with a green tarp. for something heavier try the anda bhurji at the late night stall near pratiksha nagar around 11pm, truckers & night shift folks swarm it for a reason. avoid the fancy looking places on the main road, they charge triple for half the taste

go early morning around 6 30 & hit the lanes off lalubhai compound rd, near that small ganesh mandir. old aunty runs a poha & misal stall out of her window, no board, just a steel dabba setup. her misal is thinner than the kolhapuri kind but the kat is unreal & she gives extra farsan if u come regular. by 9 it's gone so dont roll up at noon wondering where it is

sion east is mostly known for the station & the market chaos tbh, the real vada pav gems are a bit further in. walk towards dharavi side via 90 feet road, there's a guy near the sion circle bus stop doing vada pav with dry garlic chutney that's been there 20+ yrs, no signboard just a blue cart. also try the misal at a tiny place off kem hospital lane, opens around 7am & shuts by noon, ask any local for "the misal wala" they'll point u.

I want to sell my old clothes

have u tried the chor bazaar route? not for selling to shops but the friday morning flea guys near mumbadevi, some of them buy vintage/retro pieces outright and pay better than the bale walas if ur stuff has any character. got 800 for a bunch of old levi's and band tees there. thing is u gotta go early like 6am and know how to hold ur ground, they smell desperation instantly

one thing nobody mentioned, watch out for the weight vs piece thing. kabadiwalas and bale buyers pay by kilo so heavy stuff like denim and woolens actually earn more than fancy light stuff. i cleared a whole bag of old jeans to a guy in Malad for way better than what my branded shirts fetched. also wash everything before u show it, sounds obvious but dusty clothes get lowballed on sight.

honestly the timing matters more than the platform. end of month is when people get salary and actually buy, so list ur stuff around the 1st or 2nd. also post pics in natural light near a window, not on ur bed with flash, makes a huge difference on OLX and insta thrift pages. i've flipped a lot of my old stuff this way and the same kurta that got ignored at 300 sold for 500 when i relisted it properly.
