Navigating Mumbai's Airport?

if ur landing at T2 and heading south, check the airport road metro line first. line 3 now runs from the airport area down toward bandra and beyond, so depending on where in south mumbai ur meeting is, u can skip the road entirely for a chunk of it. it only helps if ur final stop is near a station though, last mile is still a cab

also dont sleep on the bus. BEST ac buses run from both terminals toward south mumbai, way cheaper than a cab, and they use the same roads so traffic hits them too but at least ur not watching the meter climb while stuck at andheri flyover. for a meeting i'd still do ola or uber over kaali peeli, the app fare is fixed so no arguing at 1am

one thing nobody mentions, keep an eye on ur arrival terminal vs departure terminal if someone's picking u up, the walk between T1 and T2 is not a thing u wanna do with bags

Traffic is real but the bigger variable is when you land. If you touch down between 8am and 11am or 5pm and 8pm, the Western Express Highway will eat you alive, and no vehicle type saves you from that. Landing late night or early morning, a plain Kaali Peeli or Ola gets you to South Mumbai in 30 to 40 minutes flat, so don't overpay for nothing.

Honestly though, the suburban train from Andheri or Vile Parle to Churchgate is the one thing that ignores traffic completely, roughly 45 minutes, costs about 15 rupees. Only worth it if you're traveling light and it's not rush hour, since packed locals with luggage are miserable.

Also look at the new Navi Mumbai airport situation before you assume CSMIA, some flights have shifted and that's a two hour drive on a good day. Check which terminal you're actually arriving at, T1 and T2 are on opposite sides and that alone changes your route.

honestly just check google maps live traffic the morning you land before u book anything, it updates every few mins and tells u more than any advice here. also fwiw the CSMIA website has a real-time wait thing for immigration and security so u can plan around that too.

have u tried the chor bazaar route? not for selling to shops but the friday morning flea guys near mumbadevi, some of them buy vintage/retro pieces outright and pay better than the bale walas if ur stuff has any character. got 800 for a bunch of old levi's and band tees there. thing is u gotta go early like 6am and know how to hold ur ground, they smell desperation instantly

one thing nobody mentioned, watch out for the weight vs piece thing. kabadiwalas and bale buyers pay by kilo so heavy stuff like denim and woolens actually earn more than fancy light stuff. i cleared a whole bag of old jeans to a guy in Malad for way better than what my branded shirts fetched. also wash everything before u show it, sounds obvious but dusty clothes get lowballed on sight.

honestly the timing matters more than the platform. end of month is when people get salary and actually buy, so list ur stuff around the 1st or 2nd. also post pics in natural light near a window, not on ur bed with flash, makes a huge difference on OLX and insta thrift pages. i've flipped a lot of my old stuff this way and the same kurta that got ignored at 300 sold for 500 when i relisted it properly.
