Crtiti Care Asia Hospital Nightmare?

My aunt had a really rough time there last year, endless paperwork, long waits, and the food was apparently... questionable. Anyone have any tips for navigating the place and making the experience less... stressful? Maybe some hidden shortcuts to avoid the queues? Or even just a recommendation for decent food nearby? Seriously considering bringing my own snacks.

The key is to have all your documents photocopied before you get there. They'll ask for the same papers at three different counters and the photocopy shop inside charges double what you'd pay at the Xerox place on the corner of SV Road. For food, forget the canteen entirely and walk five minutes to Aaram Vada Pav, it's a tiny stall near the bus stop and their vada pav with extra green chutney is the best thing you'll eat in that area for 20 rupees. The waiting area on the ground floor near the pharmacy has slightly better airflow than the main hall, and the chairs are less worn out.

honestly the best hack is to get a local assistant from the help desk near the main entrance, they charge like 200 rupees but they'll run around with your files and know exactly which counters to skip. my cousin used one last month and finished everything in 2 hours instead of the usual 5. for food, skip the hospital stuff and go to the lane behind the building, there's a small idli-dosa stall run by an aunty who makes fresh batches every hour, costs 40 bucks and hits the spot. also the AC in the VIP waiting room on the first floor is way better if you can sneak in, nobody checks IDs there after 11am

ngl your aunt's experience sounds rough but it's not always that bad. if you can get there by 7am the registration queue moves way faster, the morning shift folks are more efficient. for food, skip the canteen and walk 5 mins to Sharma's lunch home on sv road, their thali is solid and costs like 150 bucks. bring your own snacks anyway, the vending machines are always empty and the waiting area gets crowded after 10 so grab a seat early near the billing counter

I want to sell my old clothes

ngl the easiest way is to just hand them over to a scrapwala near your building, they'll sort through and take what they want, rest goes to recycling. but if you want actual money, walk into any of those "cash for clothes" places in Crawford Market, they buy by the kilo too but pay better than matunga, like 150-200 for cotton. just don't bring anything with stains or tears, they'll reject it outright and you'll waste your time hauling it there

fwiw you could also try the Instagram thrift stores that are based out of mumbai, like "bombay thrift store" or "mumbai thrift club". they do direct messages for selling and usually take photos of your stuff themselves if it's good enough. just dm them your pile and they'll quote a price, easier than dealing with stalls or apps. also, if you have any branded stuff, try the "luxury thrift" pages instead, they pay way better for zara or h&m than the general ones

The St. Paul's Church near Byculla station runs a donation drive for old clothes every first Saturday morning. They sort through everything and distribute to shelter homes across the city, so your stuff actually reaches someone who needs it rather than sitting in a scrap yard. Just drop off before 11am or the volunteers pack up for the day.
