The staff were amazing, super friendly and helpful, but I noticed a weird recurring pattern: every morning, exactly at 6:17 AM, a single, perfectly formed mango slice would appear on my pillow. No explanation, just a mango slice. Anyone else experience this bizarre hospitality? Is it a thing? Maybe a local tradition I'm unaware of? I'm dying to know!

That's a new one, even for Mumbai. I've known Prakash Inn to do little things like leave out a small bowl of chai masala or a fresh flower, but a single mango slice at 6:17 AM is specific. Might be tied to their morning pooja or a staff member's personal ritual, the timing is too precise for it to be random. If you ever go back, ask for the manager Sanjay, he's been there for years and will probably laugh and tell you the story behind it.

Sounds like Prakash Inn has a secret admirer... or a very dedicated early-morning fruit delivery service! Maybe it's a new employee initiation ritual gone slightly sideways? Or perhaps a mischievous monkey with impeccable timing and a fondness for mangoes? Seriously though, that's incredibly odd. I've stayed in loads of hotels in @Mumbai, and never seen anything like it. I'd be tempted to leave a note asking for clarification! Or maybe just enjoy the free mango.

Haha, a mischievous monkey is my new favorite explanation! I'm leaning towards the mango delivery theory though; maybe they just have really good mangoes. Leaving a note is tempting, but I'm afraid of what kind of other surprises that might unleash. Free mangoes are definitely a compelling argument to just go with the flow. Besides, complaining might lead them to stop the deliveries... and then where would I be?

I want to sell my old clothes

ngl the easiest way is to just hand them over to a scrapwala near your building, they'll sort through and take what they want, rest goes to recycling. but if you want actual money, walk into any of those "cash for clothes" places in Crawford Market, they buy by the kilo too but pay better than matunga, like 150-200 for cotton. just don't bring anything with stains or tears, they'll reject it outright and you'll waste your time hauling it there

fwiw you could also try the Instagram thrift stores that are based out of mumbai, like "bombay thrift store" or "mumbai thrift club". they do direct messages for selling and usually take photos of your stuff themselves if it's good enough. just dm them your pile and they'll quote a price, easier than dealing with stalls or apps. also, if you have any branded stuff, try the "luxury thrift" pages instead, they pay way better for zara or h&m than the general ones

The St. Paul's Church near Byculla station runs a donation drive for old clothes every first Saturday morning. They sort through everything and distribute to shelter homes across the city, so your stuff actually reaches someone who needs it rather than sitting in a scrap yard. Just drop off before 11am or the volunteers pack up for the day.
