Finding Peace in Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar?

yeah theres a small rooftop garden on top of the municipal library near the station, most people dont even know it exists. the stairs are a bit narrow and the door is easy to miss but once ur up there its just a couple of potted plants and a bench facing the sky. i go there to watch the sunset sometimes, u can hear the distant train sounds but its muffled enough to feel far away

if u want something more tucked away, the lane behind the old masjid on jagannath shankar sheth road has this abandoned stepwell thats half hidden behind a locked gate. u cant go inside but theres a gap in the fence where u can sit and look down at the water. theres always a breeze coming up from below and its dead quiet except for some pigeons

also the footpath along the creek near the bmc dumping ground is surprisingly serene after 7pm, the trucks stop running and theres a clear view of the sky. just watch ur step, theres some uneven patches

theres this really old agiary on dr ambedkar road that most people just walk past without noticing. the fire temple has a small courtyard with stone benches, and the caretaker doesnt mind if you sit quietly for a while. just take your shoes off before going in

if u want something more natural, the small patch of mangroves near the creek on the western edge is great. theres a narrow path that leads to a little clearing, u can see the mudflats and hear crabs scuttling. just bring mosquito repellent, they get aggressive around sunset

for a calm street, try the stretch past the gurdwara towards the textile mill workers colony. its wide, tree-lined, and most people drive around it because theres no direct connection to the highway. i sometimes walk there at dusk and see maybe one or two other people the whole time

have u tried the chor bazaar route? not for selling to shops but the friday morning flea guys near mumbadevi, some of them buy vintage/retro pieces outright and pay better than the bale walas if ur stuff has any character. got 800 for a bunch of old levi's and band tees there. thing is u gotta go early like 6am and know how to hold ur ground, they smell desperation instantly

one thing nobody mentioned, watch out for the weight vs piece thing. kabadiwalas and bale buyers pay by kilo so heavy stuff like denim and woolens actually earn more than fancy light stuff. i cleared a whole bag of old jeans to a guy in Malad for way better than what my branded shirts fetched. also wash everything before u show it, sounds obvious but dusty clothes get lowballed on sight.

honestly the timing matters more than the platform. end of month is when people get salary and actually buy, so list ur stuff around the 1st or 2nd. also post pics in natural light near a window, not on ur bed with flash, makes a huge difference on OLX and insta thrift pages. i've flipped a lot of my old stuff this way and the same kurta that got ignored at 300 sold for 500 when i relisted it properly.
