🍛 Start with Kurnool Biryani
Kurnool is famous for its fragrant, slow-cooked biryani, and a great place to start is at Hotel Sree Kanya in the heart of the city. A plate of their signature mutton biryani costs around ₹250 and is served from 11 AM to 10 PM. For a more budget-friendly option, try the chicken biryani at Biryani House near the Old Bus Stand, where a hearty portion is just ₹150. Both spots get crowded at lunch, so arrive early to snag a table.

🥞 Street Food at Raj Vihar
Raj Vihar Centre is the go-to neighborhood for street food, especially in the evenings when the stalls light up. You'll find crispy dosas, fluffy idlis, and spicy mirchi bajjis at prices ranging from ₹30 to ₹80. The area is easily accessible by auto from the Kurnool railway station, and it's best to visit between 5 PM and 9 PM when the snacks are freshest.

🍗 Andhra Meals at Hotel Priya
For a traditional Andhra thali, head to Hotel Priya on Station Road, where a full meal with rice, sambar, rasam, and multiple curries costs about ₹200. The restaurant opens at 11 AM and serves until 3:30 PM for lunch, then reopens for dinner from 7 PM to 10 PM. Their spicy chicken fry is a local favorite, so don't miss it.

🍢 Evening Snacks in Budhwarpet
Budhwarpet is a bustling market area where you can sample some of Kurnool's best evening snacks. Look for the pushcart vendors selling hot mirchi bajjis and onion pakoras for ₹20 to ₹40 per plate. The stalls typically operate from 4 PM to 9 PM, and the area is a short walk from the Kurnool City bus station. Wash it all down with a cup of Irani chai from the nearby tea stalls.

🍲 Regional Specialties to Try
Kurnool's cuisine is deeply rooted in Rayalaseema flavors, so be sure to try dishes like ragi sangati (millet balls) with natu kodi pulusu (country chicken curry) at local eateries such as Hotel Mayuri on College Road. A meal for two here costs around ₹500, and they are open from noon to 3 PM and 7 PM to 10:30 PM. Another must-try is the spicy Andhra-style fish curry, available at Hotel Dwaraka near the bus stand for about ₹180 per plate.

🍰 Sweet Treats and Desserts
No food tour of Kurnool is complete without indulging in local sweets. Visit Sri Krishna Sweets on Station Road for their melt-in-the-mouth ghee laddu and kaju katli, priced at ₹400 per kilogram. They are open from 9 AM to 9 PM, and you can also find traditional pootharekulu (rice paper sweet) at many sweet stalls around the city for about ₹300 per box.

🕒 Best Times to Eat
Most restaurants in Kurnool serve lunch from 11 AM to 3 PM and dinner from 7 PM to 10:30 PM. Street food stalls are most active in the evenings, especially from 5 PM to 9 PM. For a quieter dining experience, avoid the peak lunch hour between 1 PM and 2 PM when offices and shops break for meals.

💰 Budget and Payment Tips
Kurnool is very affordable for food lovers, with street snacks costing ₹20 to ₹50 and full meals ranging from ₹150 to ₹300. Most mid-range restaurants accept cards and UPI, but smaller stalls and vendors prefer cash, so carry small bills. Tipping is not customary, but rounding up the bill is appreciated.

Kurnool messes: gongura pachadi at lunch, not dinner.

Nice writeup, saving this. One thing I'd add is the bakeries around Anand Talkies side, the onion samosa and Dilpasand there are worth a detour and a box runs about 120. Also if u are doing a food run on a Tuesday, some of the smaller messes stay shut, so plan around that.

🗓️ Day 1 Morning: Fort and Temple
Start your day at Kurnool Fort, also known as Konda Reddy Fort, which opens at 9:00 AM. Entry is free, and the climb to the top takes about 30 minutes, offering panoramic views of the city. Afterward, walk 10 minutes to the nearby Sri Raghavendra Swamy Temple on Fort Road, which closes at 12:30 PM for lunch. Allow 1.5 hours for both sites.

🍛 Day 1 Afternoon: Local Lunch
For lunch, head to Hotel Sai Priya on Station Road, a 5-minute auto ride from the fort. A traditional Andhra thali costs around ₹150 and is served from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM. Try the Gongura Pachadi and Pappu, local favorites. After lunch, rest at your hotel or explore the nearby Kurnool Market.

🕌 Day 1 Evening: Mosque and Lake
In the evening, visit the Jumma Masjid on Masjid Road, a 10-minute auto ride from the market. The mosque is open until 8:00 PM and features intricate architecture. Then, take a 15-minute auto to Kurnool Lake (also called Ranibagh Lake) for a peaceful sunset walk. The lake area is safe until 8:30 PM.

🛕 Day 2 Morning: Mantralayam Trip
Dedicate Day 2 to Mantralayam, home to the Brindavana of Sri Raghavendra Swamy. Buses from Kurnool New Bus Stand leave every 30 minutes from 6:00 AM, and the 70 km journey takes about 1.5 hours. The temple opens at 6:00 AM and closes at 9:00 PM, with a break from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM. Plan to arrive by 8:00 AM to avoid crowds.

🛍️ Day 2 Afternoon: Return and Shopping
Return to Kurnool by 2:00 PM and have lunch at Hotel Mourya on Park Road, known for its biryani (₹180). After lunch, shop for local handicrafts at Kurnool Handicrafts Emporium on Gandhi Nagar Main Road, open until 8:00 PM. Look for Kalamkari textiles and brass items.

🌳 Day 3 Morning: Nature and Park
Start Day 3 at the Kurnool Rocks Garden (also called Rock Garden) on B-Camp Road, which opens at 8:00 AM. Entry is ₹10, and you can spend an hour exploring the rock formations and gardens. Then, visit the nearby Kondareddy Buruju, a historical watchtower, just a 5-minute walk away.

🍽️ Day 3 Afternoon: Final Meal
For your final meal, try Hotel New Rajesh on Station Road, famous for its Andhra meals (₹120) and quick service. It's a 10-minute auto ride from the Rock Garden. After lunch, pick up some local sweets like Pootharekulu from Sri Krishna Sweets on Market Road before you leave.

🚌 Getting Around Kurnool
Kurnool has limited public transport, so autos are the best option. Short trips within the city cost ₹30-50, while longer rides to the bus stand or lake cost ₹80-100. For Mantralayam, use the frequent APSRTC buses from the New Bus Stand (₹50 one way). Allow extra time during peak hours (8-10 AM and 5-7 PM) as traffic can be slow.

Kondareddy Buruju closes at 6, not later.

Nice work pulling this together. Nobody ever mentions the Birla Mandir near the bus stand, it's calm in the early morning and free, worth 30 minutes before you head out on day three.

Solid writeup. One thing I'd add: the Konda Reddy Fort steps get brutal by 11am, so start closer to 9. And Hotel Sai Priya's gongura pachadi sells out fast, get there before 1.
