πŸ› Where to Start
For a classic Dhanbad meal, head to the iconic Bansi Vihar near Bank More, known for its thalis and dosas since the 1970s. A full thali costs around Rs 200-300 and is served from 11 AM to 10 PM daily. It's a great introduction to local flavors.

πŸ₯Ÿ Street Food Hotspots
The streets around Hirapur Chowk come alive in the evening with stalls selling pani puri, samosa chaat, and kachori. Try the famous 'Dhanbad Special Chaat' at Sharma Chaat Bhandar for Rs 50-80 per plate. Most stalls operate from 5 PM to 11 PM.

🍜 Best Evening Spots
For a relaxed dinner, visit The Yellow Chilli on Saraidhela Main Road, offering a mix of North Indian and Chinese dishes with mains averaging Rs 300-500. Another favorite is Barbeque Nation in City Centre, where a lunch buffet costs Rs 900-1200 per person.

πŸ₯˜ Hidden Neighborhoods
Explore the bylanes of Katras for authentic Mughlai cuisine at Al-Rehman Hotel, famous for its biryani (Rs 150-250) and kebabs. In the Govindpur area, try the local fish curry at Anand Restaurant, a no-frills spot loved by residents.

πŸ’° Local Prices
A budget meal at a street stall costs Rs 50-100, while a mid-range restaurant meal for two runs Rs 500-800. Fine dining at places like The Grand Dhakeshwari can cost Rs 1000-1500 per person. Most eateries accept cash and UPI payments.

πŸš• Getting Around
Auto-rickshaws are the easiest way to hop between food spots, with fares starting at Rs 20 for short rides. For a food crawl, hire a rickshaw for Rs 200-300 per hour. Many popular eateries are clustered near Bank More, Hirapur, and Saraidhela.

🍨 Sweet Endings
Don't miss the jalebis and rabri at Gopal Sweets near Bank More, a local institution since 1950. A plate of hot jalebis costs Rs 60-100. For a modern twist, try the kulfi falooda at Bikaner Sweets on Shastri Nagar Road.

Nice to see Katras getting a mention, that area doesn't make most lists. One thing I'd add is the morning paratha scene near the Dhanbad Club, there's a small family run stall that sets up around 7 AM with aloo and gobhi parathas cooked in desi ghee, each one is Rs 30 and they serve it with a raw mango pickle that's properly sour. Also for something different, try the Mughlai paratha at Babu Hotel near Matkuria, it's a flaky layered bread stuffed with minced mutton that costs Rs 100 and they've been making it the same way since the 80s.

solid list, but they missed the kathi roll scene near the dhanbad club area. there's a small cart run by an older guy near the main gate around 8 pm, he does a mean egg chicken roll with a spicy green chutney that's Rs 80 and honestly better than any fancy version. also if you're at gopal sweets for jalebis, ask for the rabri separately on the side, they'll pour it fresh and it's way richer than the pre-mixed stuff they give sometimes

tbh the guide nailed it but they missed the evening chai scene near Patherdih More. there's this guy who sets up a stall around 6 pm with the best cutting chai and bun maska, costs like Rs 20 total and the crowd there is super local, feels like a proper Dhanbad evening. also for a quick cheap lunch, the Punjabi dhaba near the bus stand does a mean dal makhani and tandoori roti combo for under Rs 100, way better than some of the pricier spots imo

Nightlife in Dhanbad?

Heading to Dhanbad next month and wondering what the nightlife is like. Any good spots for drinks or live music? I'm there for a week, so looking for options from chill bars to maybe some clubs. Nightlife in Dhanbad isn't really a party scene compared to bigger cities, but there are a few decent spots. For a relaxed evening, The Square in Bank More has good food and a solid drinks menu without being too loud. If you want live music, your best bet is to check if Hotel President or The Royal Regency has something on during your week, they sometimes host local bands on weekends. For a proper club vibe, Club Millennium near Saraidhela is the main option, but it gets crowded and the music is mostly Bollywood, so go early or on a Friday.

honestly dhanbad's nightlife is pretty lowkey but the square is a solid choice for a drink, they have a decent whisky selection and the chicken pakoras are good. if u want something more lively try the terrace bar at hotel president on a saturday, it's open air and they sometimes have a DJ spinning remixes. for a real dive bar vibe check out saraidhela's wine shops but those close by 10pm, not exactly a club scene but u can grab a bottle and hang with locals

dhanbad's not really a late night town but the rooftop at kingsway hotel is chill for a quiet beer with a view of the hills. they got decent snacks too
