Do you get charged a much higher auto insurance premium in Berlin compared to other German cities?
My insurer charged me about 200 euros extra for auto insurance and said that it's because I moved to a different postal code (wedding, Berlin). I was in Düsseldorf earlier.

Wedding's basically notorious for high claims rates, so that 200 bump sounds about right. Might be worth checking if your SF class transferred properly from Dusseldorf, sometimes they mess that up and it's an easy fix.
yeah Berlin is definitely more expensive than most cities for car insurance, wedding especially has some of the highest rates in the city tbh. the regionalklasse for berlin overall is usually 12-13 out of 16, while düsseldorf is more like 7-8. wedding is considered high risk for claims so that's why they hit u with the extra 200. if u want to save a bit, check if you can switch to a teilkasko only or try a direct insurer like huk24, they're sometimes a bit cheaper for berlin addresses than the traditional ones
honestly yeah, the regionalklasse here is brutal. wedding is in the highest risk tier for berlin, so you're basically paying the city tax on top of the district tax. if you can, try switching to a tariff that calculates based on mileage or a telematics thing, sometimes that offsets the location penalty a bit
i'd say skip the big names and look at studiowest in prenzlauer berg, they do amazing japanese style but the waitlist is like 6 months. if u want something quicker, the artists at bitterlich tattoo in mitte are super underrated, especially for fine line. and honestly, walk past the instagram hype, go to a shop in person and ask to see their portfolio book, that's where the real stuff is.
The Berlin tattoo scene is pretty spread out, so it depends on what style you're after. If you want bold traditional, check out Die Wilde Ecke in Neukölln, they've been around forever and the artists there are solid. Honestly, your best bet is to scroll through Instagram and find someone whose healed work you like, not just the fresh photos, because that's where the real skill shows.
One thing nobody's mentioned yet is the tattoo convention at Arena Berlin, usually in early summer. It's a good way to see a bunch of styles in one afternoon and talk to artists face to face without committing to a shop. I found my guy there three years ago, he works out of a tiny studio near Boxhagener Platz and does amazing neo-traditional, but he rarely posts on Instagram so you'd never discover him otherwise. Bring cash if you go, a lot of the booths only take that on the day.
