Where to find friends mid 20s/30s?
I've had the most luck with recurring hobby groups rather than one-off events. The climbing gyms like Boulderklub or Ostblock have a pretty social vibe where people actually chat between routes, and there's a natural reason to keep showing up. Also, neighborhoodkiez cafes often have little notice boards for book clubs or board game nights that aren't on social media, you just have to walk in and look.
The bar at Prater Garten is a solid spot if you go enough times to become a regular. Sit at the long table near the entrance on a quiet weekday afternoon, not a Saturday night. People in their late 20s and 30s tend to show up solo or in pairs and are open to talking. I've made two lasting friends there just by asking what someone was reading or if they knew which beer was actually good that week.
imo the key is finding people who are also looking for friends, not just people who happen to be around. the app "nebenan" is good for that, people post about wanting to start a book club or a running group in their kiez. also try the "friends" feature on bumble, it's less awkward than it sounds. i found my current d&d group there and we've been meeting weekly for like 8 months now at a bar in prenzlauer berg. consistency is literally everything here, just keep showing up to the same thing and eventually people stop being strangers
