Schnitzelei's Secret?

What's the best thing on the menu that's NOT the pork knuckle? I want something equally awesome, but maybe a bit lighter. I'm thinking maybe a schnitzel, but which one? They have, like, a million options. Help a traveler out!

ngl the Rahmschnitzel is solid but if you want something lighter that still feels like a proper meal go for the Zwiebelschnitzel. it's a schnitzel topped with crispy fried onions and a light jus, not heavy at all. they serve it with a side salad instead of the usual potatoes if you ask, which makes it feel way less filling. the onions add this nice crunch without weighing you down like the cream sauces do

If you want something lighter but still impressive, try the Rahmschnitzel. It's a veal schnitzel with a creamy mushroom sauce that's rich without being heavy, and the sauce soaks into the crispy breading just right. I've had it a few times and it's consistently better than their Jägerschnitzel, which can be a bit too saucy. Pair it with a side of the Kartoffelsalat, it's tangy and cuts through the cream nicely.

tbh i think you're overthinking this a bit. the best thing on their menu that's not the pork knuckle is the Käsespätzle, it's basically german mac and cheese but way better. the cheese they use is this alpine style that gets all stringy and they top it with crispy fried onions. it's lighter than the knuckle for sure and honestly more interesting than any of the schnitzels which are fine but nothing special. grab a table outside if it's warm, the street there on torstraße gets nice and lively around dinner time

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
