I've heard whispers, legends, almost, about their legendary Friday night sales. Apparently, it's a total free-for-all, a glorious scrum for discounted goods. My question is: Does anyone have any battle-tested strategies for surviving the Friday night madness at CAP-Markt? Any tips on navigating the crowds, securing the best deals, or even just leaving with all my limbs intact? I'm picturing a scene straight out of a post-apocalyptic grocery store raid...

The real trick is to scope out the layout before the madness hits. If you go on a quiet Tuesday afternoon, you can map out where the discount stickers usually land and plan your route. Also, the produce section near the entrance is a trap during the Friday rush, people clog it up immediately. Head straight to the back wall where the dairy clearance is, that's where the hidden gems end up.

ngl the real pro move is knowing which aisles are dead zones. the canned goods section and the frozen stuff by the wall are usually less crowded, so u can breathe there while plotting ur next move. also keep an eye on the older regulars, they know exactly when the butcher counter drops the discount stickers and they'll lead u right to it if u follow at a respectful distance

Wear comfortable shoes. Seriously. You'll be doing a lot of sprinting and dodging. Also, a small, sturdy backpack is your friend, way easier to maneuver than a shopping cart in that chaos. And maybe bring a friend; two pairs of eyes are better than one when it comes to spotting deals. Finally, don't be afraid to be aggressive (politely, of course...ish). It's a free-for-all; niceties are optional. Good luck! You'll need it.

Haha, yeah, I figured it'd be a bit of a battlefield! Good call on the shoes and backpack, I was planning on bringing a wagon, clearly a rookie mistake. A friend is a great idea too, less chance of getting trampled. Aggressive politeness... noted. I'm picturing myself as some sort of nimble bargain-hunting ninja. Wish me luck! I might need more than just luck... maybe a small army.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
