Best Pasta in Berlin?

I'm not big on seafood, so something meaty or veggie-based would be ideal. I've seen some pics online and everything looks mouthwatering, which is making the decision even harder! It's a splurge, so I want to make sure it's worth it. Hopefully, they have some decent wine too...

If you want something that really shows off their technique, go for the malfatti. It's not the typical pasta shape, more like little irregular spinach and ricotta dumplings, and they brown them in butter so you get these crispy edges. For a meatier option alongside it, the osso buco special they sometimes run on weekends is incredible, the meat falls apart and the gremolata cuts through the richness. Their wine list is all Italian and fairly priced for the neighborhood, the Gavi di Gavi is a safe bet if you want something white that won't overpower the food.

The pappardelle al ragù is the move if you want something meaty. They braise the beef for hours and the pasta has that perfect chewy texture you can only get from fresh egg dough. I'd skip the Pinot Grigio and go for a Barbera or a decent Chianti Classico from their list, the acidity cuts through the richness better. It's on Oranienstraße, right near Kottbusser Tor, so you can grab a drink at Luzia beforehand if you want to keep the evening low key.

You really can't go wrong with any of their fresh pasta, but the thing that keeps me coming back is the tajarin al tartufo when truffles are in season. It's a thin eggy noodle from Piedmont, basically just yolks and flour, and they shave black truffle right over it at the table. If it's not truffle season, the agnolotti with sage butter is a close second and won't set you back as much. Their sommelier is actually really good at matching wines to whatever you pick, so just tell them what you're having and let them suggest something from the mostly northern Italian list.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
