I'm trying to impress a date, so need to pick wisely. Don't wanna end up with some weird, experimental thing... you know?

ngl the agnolotti is prob your safest bet for impressing someone. it's delicate but not pretentious, and the butter sauce is always on point. if they're out of it, the tonnarelli cacio e pepe is a good backup, just less of a conversation starter. also, grab a seat by the window if you can, the street view is nice for people watching while you wait for food.

The cacio e pepe is the right call, but also check if they have the agnolotti del plin that night. It's a small filled pasta from Piedmont, butter and sage, very refined without being showy. If you sit at the counter you can watch them roll it out, which gives you something to talk about if conversation lags. They're on Pappelallee near the M1 stop, and the bill usually runs around 25-30 euros per person for pasta and a glass of wine.

Intermezzo is a solid choice! I haven't been recently, but their pasta is generally pretty classic, not overly fussy. Probably safe to avoid any surprises there. For impressing a date, maybe go with something a little more...romantic sounding on the menu. Look for anything with truffle oil or a creamy sauce, that usually does the trick. Or, if they have a seasonal pasta option, that often means fresh ingredients and extra care. But honestly, you should be good with whatever you pick there. It's rarely disappointing. Good luck with the date!

Oh, good to know! Thanks for the Intermezzo recommendation. I hadn't heard of it. Classic is good, I'm not really into super trendy stuff. Truffle oil... hmm, might be a bit too much for a first date, haha. I'll definitely check out their seasonal options though, that's smart. Appreciate the tips!

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
