Where can I buy sandalwood sticks/chunks in Berlin? On google I can't find good results for some reason.

Google results show mainly soap shops and/or shops who offer sandalwood oil/tinctures, incense sticks or similar, processed products but I'm looking for the simple sticks/big chunks for burning.

Sandalwood can't be that rare in Berlin haha and usually I'm good at finding what I'm looking for but finding sandalwood seems to be harder than I thought.

I live in Prenzlauer Berg, I'm willing to take a longer trip but if possible no outskirts of the city.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

honestly check out the vietnamese shops around dong xuan center in lichtenberg, it's not quite outskirts but it's a bit of a ride from pberg. they sell raw sandalwood chunks by weight in the back section where they have all the loose herbs and resins, pretty sure it's like 8-10 eur for a decent sized piece. also there's this little shop on torstraße near u rosa-luxemburg-platz, it's mostly a tea house but the owner has a small shelf of unprocessed woods and he's chill about letting you smell before buying

try the indian shops near kotti, there's a few along skalitzer str. i've seen raw sandalwood chunks at the one right by u kottbusser tor, they keep it behind the counter with the other loose incense stuff. also worth checking the thai market at prenzlauer allee on weekends, some of the older vendors sell it from their stalls

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
